Looking at the Weather Channel and positive vibes are coming in. It looks like once Daylight Saving Time get's here in two weeks, big changes are on the way. Dry weather for a change and 60's, please!!

Good.... Then the wacky winter threads can come to and end.

Looks like it's still 30s and 40s here for a while. Usually I can get on the course by end of March.

Fresh 4-5" on the ground this morning here, haha with any luck it might be one of the last snowfalls of the year... probably not though.

I hope it is only 2 weeks. I am tired of the simulator, even though that is still better then nothing. Made a couple adjustments, want to see how they work out doors. Can't wait to hit the new fairway woods out side. Heck I could go on. Just going stir crazy waiting.

Supposed to get in the 60’s here in Iowa this weekend. Was set to play on Sunday but unfortunately have to head out of town for a funeral. Need to move to a warmer climate so I can play year round.

We are about 6 inches above average rain here in central NC. It's going to be quite awhile until the course dries out. We even have push carts on cart path only!

snow is melting enough to see some grass here. We do have some junk coming through on monday supposedly, but looking like it will be warm enough to be mostly a pain for commuting more than anything. I can't wait to get on the course myself as I've rebuilt my bag over the winter.

Not where I live. Last three weekends wiped out and tomorrow's forecast is more heavy rain. Withdrawal symptoms getting worse.

Not much sign of it here. Got another storm coming in over the weekend so high winds and rains for the next few days. Some forecasts are claiming that it will become drier in the south of the UK from the middle of March but I'm not holding my breath. Any forecast beyond three or four days can't be trusted.

But, we have received a lot of rain. A lot. Imagine if that was snow instead? It would be like that winter we had a few years ago. My street:

It has been a great winter here. Hopefully it will continue, sans rain, so things can dry out a bit.

Next Saturday is 60* F and I cannot wait for it. It is suppose to be 48* F tomorrow and sunshine, IDK. I have a honey do list tomorrow, then maybe some golf, good trade off.

Weather might be ok to play but golf courses in the northeast aren't really in good shape til May. 50's is weather to practice in for the upcoming season

Might get to play Monday morning, and the next day without rain is Friday. Our course is so wet, I can back up my driver. I played the other day, and found a brand new ball plugged about a foot away from my drive.

Sunday will be in the 40's so I'll hit the local course here in SW Ohio for the first time this year. It'll be fun enough to just hit range balls and chip on the practice greens. Good drainage here but with the slow snow melt it's a little spongey yet.

Played today and it hit 58* F . My friend and I walked nine as usual, so we have time for other things later on. I always start out great, then the last three holes own me. Next week will be more rain, but Saturday will be in the 60's, woo hoo! Then DST kicks in and golf during the week comes back, and warmer weather. So far March looks great as far as rain goes. I am ready for dryer fairways and longer distances again.

    According to the Weather Channel:

The Arctic Oscillation is a climate pattern characterized by winds circulating counterclockwise around the Arctic. When the AO is in a positive phase, it typically correlates with a stronger polar vortex. A strong polar vortex doesn't allow cold arctic air to sag into the United States, keeping things warmer.

An encouraging development. The AO thing. However, I don't trust the Polar Vortex doing what it's suppose to. Two weeks from now when the data models inexplicably change and the AO turns negative, the reality may be something entirely different. And a 10" snowstorm occurs. Anyhow, it is the first of March. Moving ever closer to marginally acceptable golf weather.

Can't wait. Spring golf on sloppy, muddy, still dead winter grass golf courses in 50* degree weather is so much fun. Fondly recall playing on league night last year, the first part of May, in a snow squall. A stimulating duffer against the elements sorta thing.

    Signed,

Curmudgeonly guy sitting with his morning coffee, looking out at a snow covered back yard, contemplating the weather.

The rain seems to have gone away. If it wasn't for a strong northerly it'd be a gorgeous weekend.

Here in the DC area we have been blessed this winter. I have been able to golf most weekends I had time to - I missed a couple for business trips. I was able to golf today even though it was like in the low 30s and windy when I teed off. Looking forward to warmer weather - of course the weather gods punish me - 60s this work week - 40s on the weekend lol.

Old Course tomorrow. Supposed to be cold and dry with a gentle breeze. In St Andrew's that could mean Polar Bears wandering the streets.
