Koepka...back to reality now???

Is Koepka coming back down to reality and eating some humble pie? He’s +8 today and his command of the driver and the advantage it gave he seems to be gone. Only thing he has been doing ok with this week is his wedge play. This coming off a horrible finish last week. I know some will say it’s not a major, but he’s so far off his game right now I really don’t see him peaking or suddenly coming into form in 4 weeks at the Masters.

He has switched to the Maverick driver and had left Claude Harmon, just saying. I’m not sure but it looked like he was using a different putter today as well.

He's coming back from an injury. I'm not ready to hit the panic button just yet.

Yes he is, but it was no where near this bad when he came back from wrist surgery. I really think he is messed up between the ears right now as well.

I suppose this is a thread better suited for after the Masters. It's more of a "we'll see" question.

Why would he change putters? Looks like he already took off the superstroke he had on there. He needs to go back to his old one

Shot 81 today! 5 out of last 6 rounds he has shot over par. Twin 74s at the Honda last week and missed the cut. 72, 73, and 81 in three rounds at Bay Hill.. Two missed cuts and a T43 so far this year not including what he will finish at Bay Hill. Currently tied to 64th at +10.

Just about every golfer is shooting over par today.

FWIW folks were writing Brooks off after the wrist injury too. I think he's too talented not to figure it out. He looked like he was swinging pretty good during yesterday's round. Maybe it's just a down year for him but I wouldn't be surprised if he's back on top of leaderboards by mid summer.

He'll be back however if someone on tour deserved some humble pie with a 80+ round its him.

Perhaps the honeymoon is over. It seems like it happens to a lot of players. They go on winning streaks then mentally lose confidence and don't perform at as a high of a level. It could be the environment and the chaos surrounding them.

Where did you hear he's left Claude? They were together at Bay Hill Tuesday and Wednesday.

Poor Brooks, total chopper!! Needs to hang it up. All downhill from here.

It is a very impressive feat to win 4 Majors, particularly in the manner in which he did it. A lot of people have forgotten that he was a distinctly average EUROPEAN Tour player prior to the run he went on. One win outside of the co sanctioned events if memory serves.

In terms of form, the best comparison that comes to mind is Padraig Harrington. Obviously he's still early in his career, but he shows very little in regular events to suggest he's above average.

I could have sworn when he was on the range this morning the GC guys said during their broadcast that he is not with Claude anymore

I’d say Koepka cares as much about this tournament as much as he cares about how he’s playing. Simply put, he doesn’t care.

Koepka isn’t one of my favourites, however, it’s far from surprising that he isn’t playing excellent golf at this tournament. I wouldn’t bet against him at any major venues this year though.

With how bad he is driving it I would put the TM back in the bag!!

Claude is still on his website - maybe Gary needs those glasses back he was sporting a few days ago, lol.

Last time I checked, he would be ranked 222 in putting on PGA Tour (he doesn't have enough rounds to show up in the stats, but thats where he would place if he had enough rounds). You can't score if you can't get it in the hole.

Statistically he was worse than the field average today, but the field average was well above par. Even players who played well shot over par. Players who didn't play well shot significantly over par. He's off form for sure, but I wouldn't read too much into todays's number.

After his round yesterday, he said "I can't play golf".

I'll blame the driver.

Callaway drivers are long but hard to control.

Bad knee, and to me, it looks like he is carrying a bit of extra weight. Not a good combo.
