Louise Ridderstrom, #155, and Linnea Johansson, #156, were originally on Monday Qualifier list; they're now in the field due to late cancellations from higher priority players.

It appears Danielle Kang is one those two late cancellations; hope she's all right.

Laura Davies, WOF and #187, finished tied second 2 years ago and probably is a tournament special invite.

Paula Creamer, #116, is still not in the field.

Laura Davies’ hall of fame status gives her some sort of priority but I don’t know what it is. She mentions in interviews that’s how she’s able to get in events.

Her house is worth half of what she has made playing golf...maybe the other 6 million is gone and she needs more clothes and shoes?

Surprised they cancelled the events instead of not having any spectators. This is very unfortunate but probably prudent. Wouldn't be surprised if the travel restrictions had to do with it as well, they just prefer not mentioning it.

California has limited the size of gathering groups of people, I think it 250. With players, staff, marshalls and others probably where over that number even with no fans.

Sorry, a bit off topic but does that mean that many golf courses are closed on the weekends for recreational players as well? I would imagine they would easily have 250 people over a Saturday or Sunday. Many events in this part of the planet go without spectators - including, apparently, the upcoming Melbourne F1 GP (need to wait for a formal announcement before it's conclusive, though) - but many doctors are calling for bans on all large public events.

EDIT: While I was writing, an announcement came that the F1 GP has been cancelled. It's Friday morning here and the race was supposed to be on Sunday. That's a short notice but I'm impressed that the organisers have the guts to go by the advice of the top health officials at the substantial cost of $$.

No sure, maybe someone from California could answer, it seems at the moment its a state by state decision. California, New York and Washington seem to be the worse affected right so maybe in these states but others may not have taken such measures and I'm not sure any course in New York or the Northern US are even open yet.

Yes, I think so. banning large gatherings is a smart strategy to slow the virus, statistically speaking. But it's not really a reason to cancel the players playing (golf anyway). I think it has everything to do with fairness, and the quality of the fields, with players stranded around the world. They need to somehow get everyone to the US, and drive the tour circuit in private cars. But these are days of quick decisions, not precise decisions.

Agree. One has to make decisions without that much time for consideration and simulations. Better to make a decision that's later seen as too strong rather than too weak.
