Cancelled Trips? Corona Virus

We have a trip scheduled to Pinehurst for next weekend and with everything going on the last few days, wondering if anyone is canceling their trips? Our group talked about it and aren’t sure what to do

I did not have a golf rip, but me and my wife were headed to New York on Saturday. We cancelled because the broadway shows we were seeing, NHL Game, NBA game, and concert were are axed / postponed. So no need to do all of that. Probably going to Myrtle Beach for the week and will sneak in some golf!

Have a big trip to French Lick in mid-May with 28 golfers. No talk of cancelling has even come up. The only way we would cancel is if the resort is closed. Someone has got to stop the madness.

I was supposed to go to Barcelona on Sunday, but that is not happening now.

I have a few trips. I'm not cancelling.

All this BS that the PGA Tour and others are spewing is all about protecting themselves. They don't care about the thousands of little guys who make a living off special events. It's all about "me" and avoiding liability. Screw the little guys.

Trip to Pebble with the wife in September planned. Figure I've got at least until early August to cancel if need be. Hoping things will be back to normal before then

My wife and I are flying out tomorrow morning to go to Pinehurst as well. Not too worried about all this hysteria. I"m hoping it means the planes are less full and the golf courses are empty (for my rounds).

I was supposed to go to NC next week for the Blues - Hurricanes game then go down to pinehurst and golf. I am no longer going. Obviously the NHL is canceled, and while I am not too worried about getting the virus myself, I think I have some responsibility to help not spread it to more vulnerable people. I'll go to Pinehurst in the fall, life goes on.

Bandon in September. There is no place I would rather be than the wide open spaces of a golf course. If things are still cattywampus I will drive out from the midwest and play along the way instead of flying a petri dish. There are benefits to being an old grumpy retired guy.

Two of the three buddies of mine that were flying into Portland to head down to Bandon backed out morning of. The third was pissed, but he did too.

At least it's snowing in PDX at the moment and the weather for our former tee time at Old Mac today looks crappy...

Supposed to go to Pasatiempo next weekend. Still on as of now... there may be less people at the airport than in line at Costco anyway.

Think it depends on if you are driving or flying. If you are driving no need to cancel at all, but if you are flying it is all about your comfort of being in a large crowded area. Just be smart and wash your hands and dont touch your face should be good to go! Either way the choice is yours.

Good for you. The media fed hysteria should be ignored. Just take reasonable precautions.

34 million Americans got the flu so far this year and nobody cancelled anything because of it.

Shocked that Europe and Asia agreed to go along with our Media.. Good for them, really impressive. You realize they have medicine for the Flu and not this?

Supposed to go on bucket list trip through Scotland mid May. Ugh

Feeling your pain here. Mine was the end of May to St. Andrews.

One can only hope that disappointment over a missed trip is the worst that comes out of all of this.

Unfortunately we’re in limbo still. Our guide is updating us on status but hotels/courses are holding fast. I’m leery at this point. Everything is closing here and cases are accelerating. In Scotland they had their first fatality today.

I'm in the same boat. I contacted all of our courses asking about their cancellation policy. About half were accommodating and said they's refund anything this year, but the other half were completely unreasonable. Dornoch said they will not be adjusting their policy and I should buy travel insurance, which does not cover this situation... They definitely aren't ingratiating themselves.

Wonder how many people have died of the flu this year in Scotland?

I’m going to Pinehurst next weekend and we are full steam ahead.

Where are you guys playing? We are scheduled to be there next weekend.

Right now everything is on as normal at my course, we got this email yesterday which seems very standard. In May I am supposed to go home for a month to golf and still planning everything as normal, if I get stuck there then I am all good as I have my house there. My Dad was supposed to be coming out to Texas in 12 days but this is looking very unlikely right now with the EU flight ban and the likely one from the UK soon it seems.

Good afternoon, we are all very much aware of the challenges being faced at the moment by the onset of the Coronavirus.

At RAGC our main concern is for the wellbeing of our members, staff and family members.

Following recent government guidelines on Coronavirus I take the opportunity to update members on the stance RAGC will be implementing with immediate effect to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus as best we can.

- Hand sanitiser will be available in the toilet facilities

- Disposable hand towels (only) will be in use across our toilet facilities

- Staff will be provided with their own supplies of the above noted items and will be requested to be extra vigilant

- Cleaners will focus their attention on key areas such as door handles and handrails etc.

- Members are requested to bring to and from site their own bath towels should they wish to use the shower facilities

In addition to the above, I request that all members and guests follow the below guidelines whenever possible;

- Be extra vigilant and wash your hands frequently with soap and water

- Use of sanitiser whenever possible

- Throw away used tissues (then wash hands)

- Avoid shaking hands

- Catch coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues. If you do not have any tissues catch your cough/sneezes on the inside of your arm-

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

- Avoid close contact with people who are unwell

- You may need to isolate yourself if you have travelled to an affected area or have been in close contact with an infected person. Self-isolation means staying at home for 14 days, not going to work, school or other public places and avoiding public transport or taxis

I thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation on all the above matters and assure you that RAGC will continue to monitor the situation by increasing/relaxing measures when deemed appropriate.

Also meant to be going for a long weekend in a few days. Group is still debating whether to go or not.

We have a trip planned for La Quinta in May and one to Pebble in June. We should be okay but who knows.

There is an outing in May in North Carolina I have gone to a few times. The outing won;t be canceled as most of the guys drive there. I have to fly so I will not be going this year.
