Davis Love house burned

My cousin who lives at St. Simons texted me a little while ago that Davis Love's house burned around 5 a.m. this morning. Haven't seen it yet on Golf Channel. Not much in the way of details yet, but house had a lot of heart pine in it & appears to be totally destroyed.

Fires are unbelievable tragedies, have seen much older folks go through the pain of the loss of a house they had spent their whole married life in - so many things lost that can never be recovered and really tears up a whole family.

Must have been tons of golf memorabilia, trophies, photos etc. he was a winner since junior days and all is irreplaceable. People insinuating it’s arson what is wrong with you lol

Phil is accused of insider trading, so he convinces DL3 to burn his own house? While he and his wife are inside? Quig, go take a walk, get some fresh air or take a nap. A tragedy was averted, but so much was lost, a shame for the family.

Rumor always was that he had a hoard of a certain prov1 ball , and a Cameron collection that would put the studio out of business. Not that a home isn’t more valuable. But a shame nonetheless. Really sucks.

Dollars to donuts, all of his collectibles and memorabilia are fine.

When you put a house on the market, you strip it of most personable items, pictures and whatnot. I would bet a lot, that these things are fine and dandy....

i'll say this.... there's gonna be all kinds of jerks that work for his insurance company that will do everything in their power to prove that it is fraud before they write him a check for a house he hasn't been able to sell for a decade.

Not to blame the OP. It could have been better. It should have been better. It is now hopelessly irredeemable.

I agree. I wish I had not posted it. I am surprised & disgusted how many people think someone's home burning down is fair game for ridicule & worse yet, insinuations that the fire was set deliberately. The Love family was still living in the home, regardless of how long it was on the market, & was in the home when the fire started.

I'd like to ask the moderators to lock this thread, please. Because it's really p**ssing me off.
