There is more one can extrapolate out of that question I know, and this idea won't happen...but...if it did,

Make sure all golfers and caddies are "fit for play" and then it's just them on the course

Just think, no stands, no ropes, no drunk idiots yelling "get in the hole!"

No. There are companies with more money in their petty cash than I'll make in a lifetime who can sponsor for free programming.

Actually a good question. Would really depend on the price but I'm pretty sure I would.

I like the current system. Sponsors pay for the telecast, and I put up with the commercials.

I've become a skinflint. If I have to pay for watching golf, it might be the Masters, the Open Championship and the Us Open. That would be all that I would pay for.

Why would they need to be PPV to not have fans? Are we talking no commercials too?

The Masters has a deal with CBS that neither makes a profit.

If PPV were to happen it sure as hell better come with some kick ass options for viewing. If it’s just all about paying extra for what you were already paying (your cable company too much as is) for, then hard pass.

To everyone saying no, or saying categorically a limited pop, picture tiger and Phil and Brooks and jspieth and Rory all tied for the lead in one you wouldn't watch - or tiger in the hunt for a pga champ after winning the first 3 majors of the year.

I think anyone willing to put thumbs to keyboard on this site, it's ALWAYS going to be situational should PPV come to pass in golf. To deny that is just being intellectually dishonest.

It’s a question of ethics.

The PGA Tour has a massive deal with the networks and we endure seemingly limitless commercials to watch and line the pockets of the players very nicely.

To suggest they would then charge to watch the Majors is bordering on immoral.

Now, if they wanted to charge say 100 bucks a year to watch unlimited golf with no commercials, fine.

No. I’m not sure why anyone would when they are on TV for already paid cable price.

I dont pay for adult entertainment or UFC fights so why would I pay for golf

Of course it would be commercial free (wasn't that a false premise of cable in its infancy?) and no sponser/ad banners on the course.

You could pick any player and/or camera to watch, and bring in some Peter Alliss type commentators that know when to shut up! ha

I've always liked a good British commentator covering a tournament.

Price? Maybe 10-15 bucks for a day, or 30-50 bucks for all four days.
