New PXG Driver release soon???

I pulled the trigger today on the Gen3 irons. When speaking with the rep, I asked him about the new proto driver we have seen lately. He said that PXG stared discounting all Gen2 drivers, fairways, and hybrids today. He said he couldn’t say anything about the new driver but seemed to indicated that the price reduction was a precursor to the release.

Anyone else hear similar information?

Kind of a terrible time for a new club launch IMO.

Ditto... I think a lot of companies will change the release cycle. Ping due to release in July, can’t see that happening. TM might wait until middle of next year

I agree with this, the current crop of clubs never got the chance to be hit at spring demo days. If the economy doesn’t rebound quickly I could envision a 2 year cycle on this years lineup.

I heard the same thing from my PXG fitter as well. He first said they'd come out when they're ready to come but later on he alluded to their release during the Summer. the only downside is if they can the the factories in China to crank on them. I for one would love all OEM's to start coming out in 2 year cycles. I would hope that with 2 years, the level of innovation would be more substantial than incremental.

The good news here is the discounted Gen 2 drivers. The feel and sound of those is as good as any. Doesn’t seem like it really caught on but it’s a strong performer.

It will be interesting to see what price point they put these at. Gen2 sold fairly well because of where they priced them at.

Please don’t come out this year. I’ve already spent too much on drivers in 2020. ?. Only kidding, if it works, I’ll buy it.

I have to imagine that they will hold off. There are more and more people out of work each day and courses are closed in several states.

I can’t imagine the supply chain would support anything new being introduced right now. If you go on their website virtually all of their accessories are out of stock.

PXG is notorious for having stuff out of stock on their website. It's extremely annoying.

Funny you say that, I wanted a hybrid stand bag (out of stock) and ironically the local rep reached out to me today and they have 208 in stock (white/black) and he put the order in.

Slightly annoying you gotta pay $50 separate for the double carry bag strap...

I ordered that bag a few weeks ago and it's so damn nice, you're going to love it!

It's examples like that boggle the mind. You've got a guy that made his fortune in websites and yet PXG can't get their inventory management system to link to their website. Imagine how many more sales you could have. To be fair, they may have inventory for fitters to sell, which I get, but one holistic inventory system would make sense, right? That's not my world, so I'm hoping they have rationale for what they do but most often, I'm left scratching my head.

I get having product for fitters but let’s face facts, most people still don’t get fit.

The story gets better, I went on the contact portal and emailed them on when they expected more inventory. Their rep contacts me later in the day and states that they have no idea on when the product will be available and I should just check back. This was hours after the rep completed the order for me and I received a shipping notice.

What a disappointing experience. I love your comment about most people not getting fit. You're so right. They'd never sell clubs online if they were bullish about people getting fit.

I hope PXG makes their new driver in a 8* loft.

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend watching the 2019 Masters. LPGA rookie Haley Moore posted on her IG, @haleymoore14, that she got the new 0811 X+ driver, but she doesn't mention if it's the Gen3 driver and there's no closeup of the driver head, so perhaps we're one step closer to new drivers and woods? Heck, they and every other OEM might be delaying product given the current circumstances.

price was $525 same as gen2 retail.

I was told today price is $595

So the same as when the Gen2 drivers came out. Glad they didn’t raise them back up to the old Gen1 pricing.

Thanks for posting this info. $525 is not a bad price at all. I’m surprised it is coming in 1 loft though.

This is supposed to be only the prototype not the final product.

Wonder what the difference will be. Incredibly weird a company would release a product that isn’t complete for retail yet. I am debating ordering one tomorrow but makes me wonder what other changes could be made and if this will end up being better or worse
