Are these fake Vokey wedges?

Hi all,

I’m new to the forum so hello everyone.

I brought 2 new Vokey SM7 wedges from Hotgolf Ltd (in the UK), I’m a bit skeptical on the etching. One of them has different type of etching to the other. Is this normal? Also one of the wedges didn’t seem brand new. No wrapper on both heads and on one of them no wrapper on the grip. Also had a sticker already removed with the sticky residue left behind. Reviews for them seem good so bit surprised. Any help would be great. Thank you. I’ve attached photos

hi Ghost, thanks for the reply. So do you think the etching being different is normal for these wedges? I just thought if there manufactured in the same place then why would the etching for serial numbers be different

M_87, i’m teeing it up in a few hours with a friend who just purchased a set of Demo model SM7’s. My statement was based on the removed sticker above the “ wedge flex” label.

His had the silver w/black DEMO label on them, i’ll check his serial # etching and get back to you.

They look fine, I lean towards them being demos also. As to the serial numbers - Vokey seems to be all over the place with them. I’m not sure if it’s different factories or what, but I’ve owned 100% authentic Vokeys with serials that look vastly different - different sizes, fonts, different orientations, different thickness/density. I don’t know if it’s different factories, machines, assembly lines, or what, but there’s not much uniformity from one to another. I’ve wondered sometimes if the randomness is on purpose.

M_87, checked my friends Vokeys, all 3 of his wedges #’s have the etchings matching your last (6th) photo. However one is stamped 1/8th inch higher above the “Vokey Design” logo than the other two. I’m with GoIrish17, quality control may not be job#1 on demo wedges.

I’d play them, they are a great looking wedge.

Thanks for your reply’s Golrish and ghostwedge. It does seem that’s the case looking on eBay at other edges they have a demo sticker next to the other one. Slightly annoying as I wasn’t told and paid full price for them but I will take it up with the company who sold them. But thanks again guys
