Help me launch my Mid Am Career

If you are bored at home, I’ll appreciate any help to fix my slide.

Why the Mid Am and not mini tour events to work yourself up to the PGA tour?

What slide?

looks good, I would say with your irons make sure left side stays down on the downswing a tad longer, but looks good.

Trying to go the Am route. Want a career outside of golf.

you don’t think left hip moves too horizontally towards target? Feel like club is late due to this movement.

I highly recommend paying $50 for an online lesson with a coach of your choice. Monte and Dan are favorites here and could give you the pointers needed.

I see your hips as open and possibly too much lean in that lead knee coming into impact. This could be why you feel the club is behind. A good online coach could give you drills and explanation on a better transition to get your whole body in sync together at impact.

I also recommend taking a lesson with someone that has a BodiTrak or similar device if possible. If you really want your game to the next level, I think your going to need to increase your ground pressure and transition. Having a BodiTrak can really open your eyes to what you need to be doing in transition.

I thought the NCAA had extended eligibility due to Covid cancellations.

I’m unable to play another year, commissioning in the Army in a few weeks.

Yes find a really good instructor. Travel to do in person. Tyler Gulliksen is a really good mid am and sees iteach. He travels (he's a bomb squad guy in the Navy) and probably does video too.

Did you play for West Point this season?

Yes, played in more events during the fall season. Obviously our spring season was cut short.

I followed you guys this year (My daughter is a Lax commit, headed there in a year, so we were on Post a lot this year and I got to play the course a few times). I met some of you guys at the course this fall. The team had a very nice fall, and a good start to the Spring. . I feel for all you Firsties, as you all deserve so much more. Bur, Congratulations on graduation, and your commission. What branch did you get? and where are you headed to first?

Thank you, I appreciate it... and congrats to your daughter! I'll be joining the Transportation Corps and heading to Fort Carson, CO for my first duty station. I hope you enjoyed playing our course more than I do.. not the best course for long hitters.

Thank you, we are very excited, and it was funny when you posted earlier and said you wanted to go the mid-am route and have a career outside of golf. My daughter chose West Point from all her other choices for the career that she will have after she is done competing, so I know exaxctly what you are saying. I am sure you will be super successful in your chosen path, allowing you you compete and enjoy the game for years.

I know the Ft Carson Area well. You will have many good golf courses, including one on base to play. I actually was a resident athlete (wrestler) at the Olympic Training Center and took up golf while I was out there. I had a connection at the Broadmoor, would hit balls there when not training. Ended up taking up golf seriously after I retired from competition (I did it backwards). Colorado has a solid schedule of am events out there run by the CGA.

Good luck. I actually work with Dragon. I’m sure if you reached out to Tyler he’d be more than happy to talk with you about being in the service and playing top level mid am golf (he’s top 600 in WAGR and top 30 mid am in the world last I looked)

Never know if I should hit driver on that hole and try to carry the water or not!

Many times what you're feeling and what video shows are two different things..... maybe you've had a negactive feeling towards what you feel as a slide and you need to remove that lol and allow yourself to swing or maybe you blame your miss on sliding which you're not doing

I always hit driver there. Guess you won’t have to decide for awhile seeing as they just closed courses in NYS!
