After the year that we’ve had thus far, the Ryder Cup being in September will be great for all the teams, fans and countries.

I agree with your not agreeing. Hopeful by then things are looking up in regards to keeping distance.

Especially if the NFL has fans in the stands .

Can't see it happening come August, no way it will be fully safe by then..... Then to have a possible pga in August yey no open championship..... Awful, just awful. The only thing I can see happening is the masters, then on a positive side we get 2 masters in 6 months. Hope I'm wrong really am, as I want this madness over but on a golfing note to schedule this and then have the r&a cancel the open is really disappointing..... It's a major and if it's safe by August why in gods name cannot it be played in August??

Cuz it's a logistical nightmare to have to move dates, and again, and again. Who knows, if the situation is different in a couple of months (as in immensely better) they could schedule it quick. But too close to the next date, I don't think they would do it.

That's the problem, just disappointed more than anything. I'd rather have the open than the ryder cup, they moved it in 2001 for obvious reasons why not go back to odd years. But if we are on this schedule it means life is getting back to normal and in truth that's what we all want.... I've painted everything to paint, my garden looks the best it's ever done and I'm actually looking for things to do

I am just not sure we are going to see a Ryder Cup this year. That I am now thinking that that is probably the most sensible idea is definitely something that I am not happy at myself for but I just wonder how the rest of the qualifying schedule works, who ends up on the teams, etc, etc. Sure there are ways and means to do it but I am not sure that they are ideal. I would also be another one that would like to see an Open as opposed to the Ryder Cup.

I realize that I am in the minority(What’s New???) however I would take the Ryder Cup over any single golf tourney, with the closest probably being the Green Jacket, and obviously my bias from my past athletic experience is slanted towards the team aspect of the Ryder Cup versus the individuality of any one tournament, regardless of how “Major,” though at the end of the day, I just wanna see some Tour Boys Playin on TV, and not the 2008 Friggin US Open, lol.

Well, that and the NFL Draft?

I wonder what happens to the PGA @ Harding. I have tickets, was going to take my daughter. With SF being the first to shelter in place, I wonder if this comes back or goes to another venue?

The article posted by the OP states the PGA Championship is scheduled to be played at Harding Park from August 6-9 2020.The PGA Championship, postponed from its May 17 date at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, will move to Aug. 6-9. 

As a local, I am always excited when we get big events coming our way. I hope that travel logistics by then won't be too much of a problem. We at least will get a nice little trial run with the DNC getting moved, as well. Going to be a very interesting one with our current state of things here in Wisconsin, even come late fall. Can't wait to have the fun so close again!

This should be very feasible if people just follow guidelines. We'll have real COVID-19 death reports by June with the non-inflated (reporting all deaths as COVID-19 deaths even when it's not the cause of death is artificially inflating) numbers and see what we are really up against. Hope we get to follow through on this schedule and see some courses with those awesome Fall leaves.
