KBS HI REV 2.0

Do any longer distance players have experience with the KBS HI REV 2.0 in their wedges? My full PW is 145. I hit the ball on a mid trajectory and mid spin with KBS tours 130X in my irons. I like the idea of HI REV 2.0 135X shafts for all of the partial wedge shots, but will they spin too much and mess up distance gapping on full ones?

My pw is ~130.......and I have a very very limited sample size, 1 round and ~ 5-10 partials and 5-10 full, with a 52* wedge and Hi Rev 2.0 stiff, but I had no problem on full shots. Nice controlled trajectory. Won't comment on spin as it was March in Wisconsin and hard to tell with crunchy and soft greens.

From what I have seen the Hi-Rev 125 is basically a KBS Tour 130 8-iron shaft. I'm guessing the Hi-Rev 135 is a KBS Tour XX 8-iron shaft. I haven't seen the 135 but I'm guessing it's fairly stiff.

I have played both the Hi Rev 125 and Tour X 8 iron shafts and agree that they are very very similar if not the exact same thing. I really like both. I've always been a low ball hitter and my PW is usually my 135 club. Don't know that they are spinning much more than a KBS Tour but so far they are very stable and I have loved the feel from both so far. I play the Tour 125 S+ in my irons and they blend perfectly.

I didn't realize that the HI REV 2.0 was a Tour X 8 iron shaft. That makes sense though. I'll give them a try. Sounds like they will blend pretty well.

Here is a comparison....the left is a black nickel KBS Tour X 8 Iron shaft in a 56 degree SM6 and the right is a Hi Rev 125 S in a 58 degree SM7. The picture isn't super clear because the BN doesn't photograph well, but step patterns are identical. Both are great shafts!

My weaker lofted 620MB PW is 118yds, and have a KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 stiff 125g wedge shaft in my shaft barrel. I didn't like the trajectory, it's too high due to it's active tip section. It's going to increase effective loft on the wedge causing really high shots.

My tempo is a bit too fast for that shaft too. Go figure my 52* SW has a 125g Steelfiber stiff shaft and it allows me to control the trajectory and distance.

What shaft do you play in your irons if you don't mind me asking?

No problem. I forget that some people can't see signatures.

My 17* 2i has Steelfiber i95 stiff, 3-PW 620s Steelfiber i110 Stiff and Vokey 52* SW Steelfiber i125 Stiff and soon Vokey 58* LW will have i125 stiff. The shafts feel great. They feel a bit tip stiff, similar to the PX 6.0 shafts I played forever. I went with 110g because it's close to 120g PX and Steelfiber has a similar bend profile.

IMO - the KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 with active tip fits people that have trouble putting spin on the ball and getting the ball up in the air. That's a problem I don't have, yet.
