Tips for backyard practice, hitting into a net

We are on lock down here in PA, no ranges or golf courses open.....Looking for some feedback on backyard practice hitting into a net. Is it beneficial?

Im worried that hitting into a net only for the next month or so with no feedback might be a bad thing. I love chipping around the yard but when it comes to hitting balls i usually get bored even at the range, i prefer to play over practice. I won a net last year at a scramble and threw it in the basement with no plans on using it, but its now been almost a month since i hit a ball and dont expect anything to be open for another month (who knows). Im starting to get itchy.

Any tips on making this type of practice worthwhile?

One thing I’ve been considering is getting an inexpensive launch monitor, like the prgr. You can get foot powder spray and use it to practice nailing the sweet spot. You can work on fundamentals like tempo, set-up with guide sticks, balance. There is actually quite a bit you could work on each day. I have a net, and also a chipping basket. Still hoping our league course opens.

Any suggestions on a free video capture app so I can analyze my swing?

I've set up an impact bag at home just filling an old bag with cushions and placing towels over it. I use an old iron and I can hit the crap out of it. But I was wondering about a purpose built impact bag I can take the course or driving range. Most of the reviews I've found say they are mainly for rehearsing your swing and they will break with a full swing. It appears the seams split. Has anyone used an impact bag for full swings that doesn't break?

It really depends on how you work on your game, and probably where you are at in your game. I currently am reworking my swing (thank you George Gankas, for your unbelievable website), so using the mirror and camera in the yard is super beneficial. And I'm doing many slow motion swings, freezers, and impact drills, so the benefit of actually seeing ballflight doesn't matter much at all. Once we break through this shelter in place phase, I can't wait to go hit some balls at actual targets though! Hoping the new swing will be relatively well ingrained by then. Regardless, make sure you are at least getting feedback somehow, whether it is a mirror or video. There are super cheap tripods on amazon that I use for perfect face on and DTL capture, and I really just use my slow mo iPhone capture.
