Let's get this one going. Many of you can't play yet so maybe this will help those of you who will be in for a new driver once golf is open to everyone again.

What's your sim setup? Head, shaft, loft, weight config? How's the driver playing for you?

SIM 9.0 in standard loft, upright lie. I added a 4g weight to the front track to get swingweight up. Rogue silver 125msi X at 45".

Took me a while to get it dialed in. Launch monitor showed a pull or draw bias so I setup the sim to be fade biased. Was great except a few drives would get lost right in the next county. Put the 10g in the heel and 4g in the center and moved to the upright setting and it's been phenomenal ever since.

Goodness...do you swing about 120 and play a hard draw? That's a TON of weight in the toe. You haven't hit it outdoors at all yet?

    I figured you correctly!

Other folks who often miss left have stated SIM really helps take left out of play. Hit it well.

Well I think you have it setup well. You can always slide that 10g weight more to center if you get too much right side out of it.

I am playing the the sim in 10 degrees with weight between center and the draw setting. I have the stock Diamana and a GDADDI 6 and a friends 7, . One thing I have found out is that I cant tee it up like I did the M3. So far I am hitting the stock shaft better than both Graphite Designs, but I am getting more roll with all three than I was with the M3, testing will continue.

Update 4/29 Sim is no longer in the bag, i just could not hit consistently and not forgiving enough. I hit several (4) shots really high on the face . I like to tee up high and swing up and this head is shallower than anything i have played in the last 7 or 8 years. I have since purchased a Ping G410 LST, and while I must admit, the Ping is more forgiving with a larger head from top to bottom even though its 450cc, Sim was longer on well struck shots.

I originally bought SiM 9.0* with HZRDUS Smoke Green 6.5 70grm. I Pulled the smoke green and have been playing the original HZRDUS Black 62g 6.5 tipped 3/4 " at 45" and 1 notch towards "upright" from "lower" setting and sliding weight 1cm towards the toe. I've found myself places on the course on the fly (read as plugged) that I've never found myself in dry conditions previously.

I've been playing it a little over a month now and I am loving this driver. I've not been a big TM guy but this thing has me believing. I started to tweak the settings when I was hitting it at my local store and found that playing it at 10.5 with the weight a little bit towards the fade position works great. I can move it both ways and I'm actually confident in doing so now. I had my highest fairway percentage of the year yesterday with 86% hit. I was keeping up with two collegiate golfers so it felt good.

I'm playing it in the stock Diamana shaft in the x flex and I feel it almost plays like a Blueboard or AD DI. It's very smooth IMHO and provides me with optimal spin and launch numbers. One thing I like is that in the wind it plays great as well. I don't have to tee it super low to flight it. Somehow this driver just allows me to tee it normally on almost every drive I hit. I have messed with teeing it lower but I found it added a bit more spin than I like compared to the normal tee height. I've also cut mine down to play 45 in. I'm now tempted to play the SIM fairway since I'm having so much success with the driver.

I purchased the SiM rocket fairway with my driver. i ordered with the FW75 diamana shaft tipped 3/4" and i can not play it. It feels entirely too whippy and every shot with that shaft winds up way left of intended target line. I put a D+ 80X in it and its like point and shoot and EXTREMELY long. Loving this setup currently!

It's definitely long. I attribute it to very little sidespin combined with higher launch in a lower spin head...compared to drivers of the past. It's like a straighter 16 m2 with higher launch and lower spin.

I play a tournament series that puts champ flight at 6800 every tournament. I believe one of the best features about this driver is the ease in hitting it off the deck. I play 2-3 drives per round on short par 4 holes where I just kick up a grass tee and pound a low bullet fade that runs to 270.

Id love to contribute more to how nice this driver is to play, but our lovely (read as moronic) governor here in good old NY has just shut all golf courses down until at least 4/29/20. Strongly considering crossing state lines to get a round or 2 in over the next couple weeks.

I realize this is not a Covid discussion, but I find it beyond stupid that courses are closed due to this. Possibly the sport with the most potential for social isolation possible. If they do contactless online payment, no carts, no groups of more than two and no touching flags/cups/rakes etc there is absolutely no reason why golf shouldn't be played. Florida got it right there.

That aside! Those who switched from a properly fit M5 to sim what did you pick up in ball speed? I hate seeing people go "I picked up 20 yards with the new driver" every year. Well if you did you'd be averaging 400 yards off the tee by now. Ball speed is the same out the middle of a club. It's about averages. I imagine it's a bit quicker overall just wondering if it's a decent leap forward.

    I had a 10.5 m5 turned down to 9.75. I traded it for a 9.0 sim.

    Here's m5

    Here's SIM

Note that those are 6 shots with each, no do overs, just 12 straight shots.

Interesting. I'd guess you're just under 110 SS? Would be interested to see the M5 9 degree vs 9 degree. Potentially even the 9 degree lowered. I've got mine set to 8.25 right now with weights back and in draw.

I was fit into the m5 when I was 106-107. I worked on strength for 4 months and was fit into sim swinging 108-110. M5 in 9 would show better spin but it wouldn't touch the ballspeed. I always thought m5 was slow. But it was accurate.

Yeah I'm in the same place as you. Working through a hit and back issue and then I'd like to work myself up closer to 115 as I know I'm capable of that and more. During quarantine going through a swing course from Larry Cheung (the guy the TXG guys use). He's got it free on his website. When I'm swinging well with my TS3 I can get up to 160 ball speed but that's tops. I'd like to live around 165 if I could. With my launch and spin conditions on TS3 I had everything getting over 300. Carry average was 275 I believe.

My goal is to be at 112 by October. If I can pick up another 10 yards in carry and another 1/2 to 1 club in irons then I'll be just fine.

Distance certainly makes the game easier. My issue with driver is sequencing. 7 iron is around 94mph when I'm warm so relatively I think my driver speed is a bit on the lower side. I should have no issue being over 110 consistently. For some reason 3w and driver just really throw my sequence off.

I'm really looking forward to having a head to head with the TS3 and M5. There's a Sim 8 degree for sale near me which I'd really be interested in trying. Wouldn't mind the ability to loft it up a bit as I find TM drivers look a bit open because of the twist face on the high toe.

Im about to order everything I need for the Mevo+ so I can get launch monitor numbers and specs from a few different shafts in this SiM head while im stuck home under this quarantine. I think 120mph CHS and 178+mph B.S. out of this thing is totally doable for me!

I play a 9.0 STD w/ The Tensei CK Pro White 60 TX. So far it’s been really good, although my combination might be too low of spin. Bought a Kuro Kage Silver TINI as a backup if I do need a little more spin to keep it in the air. Ball speeds on mishits do seem to maintain most of the speed, and the sound has definitely been something to get used to from my M3.

This comment is meaningless but the last round I played before the lockdown I got paired with a random dude who was playing a brand new custom fit SIM driver with an upgraded shaft (I don't recall which one). He was a decent golfer and was quite a bit taller than I (which is not saying much since I come in at 5'6").

Anyway - towards the end of the around he admitted to me what I could already tell which was that he was very frustrated by the fact that I was consistently out-driving him with my G410Max.

Hi, My name is Quigley and I play a SIM. Haha.

My SIM is a 10.5 set to 9.5 with a KBS TD cat 5 shaft.

I was absolutely crushing this before the shut down. I hope it comes back. I love the shape and color of the head. It is a bit harsher feeling in my mind than other offering but I am ok with that.

I do find TM offerings generally have a harder feel to them. I like the noise though. Markedly different from my TS3 which is MUCH more metallic.

Only courses open now in tristate are in CT.

Had a time on long island get there and they were closed. They weren’t when I made time at 5pm last night. So we drive over an hour to Wesrchester as today is last day they’ll be open. It was hailing on 3rd green hahaha. Not easy but we got a round in. Will be last one for a while :(

Only recently got fitted for the SIM (golf shops and courses still open here).

9* head cranked down to 7*, weight halfway between middle and toe, smoke green 6.0 shaft.

I have 4 rounds under my belt with it now and coming from the Ling G410 plus it is considerably longer for me.

Have ordered some lead tape to add a little weight to the head and I am also considering picking up a Ventus Blue shaft to play a little shorter than standard.

So far though I am very impressed with the driver.

I was fitted for Sim 9* turned to 8.25* with weight in the heel and hosel in upright setting. Shaft is the Atmos Tour Black 60TX. I picked up 8-10mph ball speed from 162 to 172-175ish. Was not striking it well during fitting but the ones I hit well were way better then my M5. spin dropped from 3500 to about 2200.

    Ha ha hardly!

just a very high ball hitter, my AOA is around +5*, I’m only swinging 105-110 as an absolute max.

Thats the only reason I have added distance, launch are spin are getting towards that more optimal window
