PUMA Ignite Pwradapt Caged reviews?

Recommended Posts

One of my coworkers just picked up three pair of the caged. He seems to like them so far. He said they are very comfortable and they feel much more stable than the pair he wore the year before. They were another style of Puma, but I’m not sure which ones.

I have them. Over 25 years playing golf and it’s the first pair of Puma I’ve ever owned. I have a very difficult time finding the right size/fit for shoes. In the recent past I have bought and returned multiple pairs of FJ, Trues, Adidas, etc. I had decent success with Eccos but never loved them. I would highly recommend these. I have a fairly wide, flat forefoot and narrow heel/ankle. The first pair I had were wide width and it was the only pair I have ever put on that were too wide in the toes. I exchanged them for regular width and they fit great. The neoprene sleeve around the ankle locks in my foot without being too tight. The soles are soft and comfortable but still offer stability.

The only experience I have with Trues are with the Major. I would say that the Ignite PWRADAPT Caged have more room top to bottom and about the same width side to side. I struggle with my left foot specifically feeling crushed. This doesn’t happen with the Pumas.

i have true knits that i like and purchased the pumas in wide this season (same size). i normally struggle to find something that doesn't rub my pinkie toe. really like the fit and feel of the pumas, the only time i wear my knits anymore is on a trip to the range where i don't want to swap shoes in the parking lot

Are you serious with the sizing on these? I ordered my same size as Nike roshe Tour, which seem to run a touch long, these Puma are huge!

returning, trying half size down, normal width in the boa version.

Same issue for me. I ordered a size 12 which is what I wear in Nike and Adidas and they are way to big. I am returning them for size 11.5 but not sure if size 11 wouldn't be better.

Same here. I’m a 9.5 or 10 in Nike depending on style...tried a 9.5 in the NXT Lace and had almost 3/4 inch extra room in the toe. Almost worried about the 9 being too long.

I just picked a pair of these up today, and after one range session I'm in love.

I've been on the hunt for some new golf shoes for a while and nothing has been fitting quite right. I've tried on all the latest FJ, Adidas, Nike, even ordered a pair of True Linkswear, but most everything either feels too stiff or too narrow for my foot. The Trues were wide enough, but I just wasn't sold on the style.

I tried these Puma Ignite Pwradapt Caged shoes and they felt amazing. They were just as comfortable, if not more comfortable, than my adidas boost running shoes. And I liked that they had a similar technology with the wrap around the mid foot. I didn't want to take them off after being at the practice facility for 2+ hours.

Being wider in the toe box was a huge plus for me (I have the standard width and they are plenty wide -- wider than any medium width shoe from other brands). Plus, I had been wanting to try a more athletic shoe that felt spikeless, but still had good stability. And if I could somehow find waterproof as well, then sign me up. I considered getting another pair of Eccos, but I didn't want to spend ~$250. These Pumas checked all the boxes.

They do run big as others have confirmed. Size 10 with standard width was perfect for me. In Adidas golf shoes, I can wear 10.5 or 11 depending on the shoe. FootJoys also run large for me -- size 10 works, but even a wide width isn't wide enough. In Nike golf I think I'm a 10.5 or 11. Adidas boost running shoes I'm an 11. I had one pair of Eccos a few years ago that were a Euro size 44. The Puma size 10s match to Euro size 43. It felt weird buying a 10, but they are definitely the right size.

At the range, I felt more connected to the ground and more level (my previous adidas tour 360s from 2017 likely have a steeper heel to toe drop). I only lost my balance once or twice after banging 70+ balls, and it was definitely my fault -- not the shoes tipping me over. The shoes felt stable, yet flexible and very comfortable.

I haven't felt this excited about a new pair of golf shoes in a while. Hopefully they hold up over time and I still have the same opinion a year from now.

Nice review and thanks for that. I'm also a 10.5 in almost everything so i'm glad I ordered a 10 in these. The thing with my foot though is that it's narrow. I never order narrow shoes, I just go with standard width and it's always fine. But sounds like that could be an issue for me. Finally, the Caged in gray looks great-- makes me second guess the blacks I've got coming!

I just got mine too. 1/2 size down was definitely the way to go, which fits just right length-wise. These are wider than normal for a regular width shoe as mentioned above but that seems ok even for my narrow foot. Now I'm going to have a "bake off" with the Adidas Tour360 XT-SL I also bought this week. Only thing is the bake off means just walking around my house as one pair needs to get returned.

Style-wise I'm digging the Pumas a bit more. Comfort-wise and stability-wise (best I can tell taking practice swings in my living room) I have to give the nod to the Adidas. The Boost thing is amazing in those. Adidas aren't truly water proof which Pumas are, and Adidas are presumably less breathable. Tough call!

I had the black ones (disc) in my cart at Amazon, we’re like $85 in my size with 3 pair left in stock, but was waiting to see if the second pair of white ones fit first.

i got them today, played 18, love the shoe, went to order the black, inventory dropped to 1 pair, price up to $133, so decided to wait. I woke up, middle of the night, checked again, quantity up to 2, price drops to $77 Prime, score, on the way.

From what I see on the Adidas website, the TOUR360 XT-SL have "breathable, water repellent" Climastorm. Other 360 Boost models have seam-sealed Climaproof, like even the spiked version of what I have, the TOUR360 XT. No idea why, and no idea how much difference it makes. I haven't worn mine out of the house yet.

Dang you're right. Only a 1 year waterproof warranty now for the spikeless model.

the spiked 360 XT has a 2 year waterproof warranty.

I gave the Puma's an inaugural 18 yesterday, walking and carrying, warm day. I loved the stability, traction, and for the most part the comfort. I say most part on the comfort because they were super comfortable except for a couple hot spots, mainly where the cage is on the heel. Especially on one foot. It didn't turn into a full on skin-breaking blister but it was close. I'm hoping this loosens up over time.

I’ve played a couple of rounds with mine now and compared to my tour 360 boosts. The Puma’s are very comfortable but not as cushioned as the 360 in my opinion. I like the breath ability of the Puma’s. Overall I like them as well as the 360s but my biggest complaint is they are hard to put on because of the one piece sock. Not used to using a shoe horn to put on golf shoes.

Comfort wise, these are certainly up there. Maybe not as comfy as the Adidas 360 xt line but its definitely comfy. My favorite feature of this shoe is how low it sits to the ground. I definitely feel a better connection with the ground when i wear these.
