New Titleist Driver in the works?

TS line was a big improvement for me over previous Titleist drivers. Will be interesting to see if they can make another jump. I hope he next line stays all titanium. I don't mind carbon crowns, but it is nice that Titleist and Ping still have all metal driver options .

Branding will be interesting. Do they stick with “TS”? Not sure how they improve upon the line without going way outside of Titleist norms with visible moving weights, carbon, or something.

Titleist has gone all in on the TS moniker so I would say with certainty it will be back.

the TS woods were good but honestly not great sellers they were 5th in sales. A distant 5 at that. Titleist needs to break out some. They need to do something bold.

If they stick with the titleist status quo they will fall further behind in the woods sales numbers.

And shoe company. I read somewhere several years ago. They had like $1.1 billion in sales and like $800 million were balls and shoes. Something crazy like that. I probably have the exact numbers wrong but the takeaway is equipment is not the money maker. Not by a long shot.

Agreed. The sales declined after the other OEM’s brought out their new releases. If they would release in the beginning of the year along with TM and Cally, they would become much more competitive, but it would be very high risk to go toe to toe against them, especially with Taylormade’s marketing blanket. I don’t know, just seems like when they released the TS series, they brought along a very successful marketing campaign in "Project Speed" but it completely disappeared a few months later. I find the TS line to easily keep up with Sim and Mavrik, especially the TS3, I also loved the 4 stock shaft options they brought to the table, hopefully they stick to that in the next release. Either way I’m excited to see what’s in store once all this smoke clears

They will likely stick with the TS theme as mentioned before, or at least the T. They followed up their woods/metal release by releasing their T100-400 lines in their irons. Purely speculation, but instead of Titleist “Speed” it could be adjustability, accuracy, performance, etc. if they wanted to focus on a new feature for the line.

All true. I am simply saying that “if” they want to produce a line of woods in the attempt at market share. They need to be innovative. Their woods were good, very good. But they are behind even smaller companies like Cobra in sales and performance.

Titleist has the resources if they so choose to make a splash. Again, as you correctly said, if they want to.

Maybe introduce sliding weights? ??‍♂️ Probably not. Hopefully these are not the models that introduce new adapters.

Assuming that ranking is for 2019, keep in mind that the TS2/3 were released in September 2018 and had been out for nearly 6 months by the time the other big OEMs started shopping their 2019 models so I’m sure that was a factor.

Also, is this based on units or revenue? If units, remember that Cobra drastically under under priced the competition with the F9 so that may have been a factor as well (like when Srixon overtook Bridgestone in units sold during their bogo promo and fell back to 5th shortly after).

It was units sold for 2019. The TS line is considered their 2019 driver. Even though it is released in the fall.

the cobra driver priced $50 dollars less punched way above that price tag. It was an amazing deal for that price.

I understand that the TS line was classified as 2019, but the big early adopters boom happened in the fall of 2018 which puts Titleist at a disadvantage for the 2019 numbers (TS1/4 were released in 2019 but were targeted at niche demographics). I am sure if Titleist would have released the TS2/3 in early 2019 or if the metrics included total units per release regardless of date, they would have faired better than 5th.

That's what I am saying. Drivers sold at the end of 2018 count towards the 2019 sales numbers. It is based on release really not year. So early adoption or not does not matter, all numbers are counted.

I'd be very surprised if Titleist drastically changed anything, as mentioned above they're essentially a ball company who happens to also make clubs.

Amazing that Titleist are still considered to be behind the curve when it comes to drivers. The TS3 that I am bagging is the best driver that I have hear had. Clearly, I am a Titleist fan boy but I do try everything. I preferred the sound of the TaylorMade products but beyond that my TS outperformed everything.

It’s like TaylorMade who no longer seem to release something new every 6 months but still take flak now for doing it and people think that they still do.

The TS driver is very underrated I think it's a marketing issue. Its is as good if not better than the competition. If you watch any Titleist commercial it is an iron or ball commercial even when the TS line was being launched. with that being said I have a TS3 in the bag for almost 2 years now. It is the longest a driver has lasted in my bag. I used to switch drivers every 4-6 months. I hope they don't make major changes just minor tweaks. I will give the new driver a shot for sure but i don't see the TS3 being kicked out of my bag.
