Cobra F9 weights vs ball flight

Im sure this is a stupid question to most but just running it through my head. I will test it tomm on the course. So I played today for the first time in a month, as my state lightened some restrictions. I played my Cobra F9 for the first time, It has an atmos black tour spec shaft. I played todays round with it at stock 9 degree setting and heavy weight in the back. I was definitely over-drawing it but only hit 1 really bad off the planet hook, which was my first swing with it. The shaft feels wonderful and smooth. Ball flight is high and every hole I was left side usually just left of the fairway.

I didnt tinker during play. But it got me thinking. If I put the heavy weight forward could that theoretically lessen my hook spin? And lower the flight a touch? Obviously I need to tinker or hit trackman. I want to add out of 10 driver swings I never went right of the fairway midline once. And also I could be a good canidate to lower the loft. Thanks guys. So good to be in the course again. Stay safe!

YES - moving the weight forward will reduce face closing and added dynamic loft, and its the first who is your problem, but not really the added face closing itself, but where face angle starts from vs where we ends up.

But...when we move the weight forward, we also remove some forgiveness on shots with impact a tad on the side of COG, and thats not beneficial, so i suggest you try to solve this by face angle settings itself, since its the face angle at impact vs path that cause the hook. Look at how you grip the club with the lowest hand, it should not be too strong, that will close face up to much, and also make sure you dont grip the club with a closed, but slightly open face angle from address.

Thanks for the response Howard. I def am a big fan of forgiveness.

I did feel that the F9 gives me a closed feeling at set-up. Unfortunately our range is not open yet but I will def tinker on the course to make sure im not setting up with a shut face which I very well could be. And then add winter rust to the equation.

I wanted to give an update after playing 2 more rounds in case this helps others in any kind of way. Im not a techie so take this with a grain of salt. before playing my second round I just moved the heavy weight to the front. In theory hoping to reduce my draw/hook and bring the ball flight down.

From the very first drive of the day dead straight and a low spin missile shot that was deep. I instantly noticed a straighter ball flight that moved less right to left. A ball flight that visually you can tell is less spinny. Even the few times I hit a push it went straight and deep, very playable. After 3 rounds I feel very confident that moving the Center of gravity made this driver much better for me. Yesterdays round I hit 8 of 10 fairways with my driver and both misses were just in light rough, Unfortunatly my short iron game left me, LOL its always something!

This just goes to show you that you have to tinker and that not all drivers will give you the same feedback. I played an M5 driver last year and I didn't dare play the weights forward, rather I played it with both weights in the back just to give me as much forgiveness as possible and even still I didn't find that driver very forgiveable. The Cobra F9 so far so good! But as in all things golf I will save the final word until I get several more rounds in as things can change quickly in this game!

No I have not tinkered at all with the lofts. Mainly due to covid and not going to the range. Even tho my course the range is now open I just have been sticking to playing. But to your question I do want to go to range and im curious to try the settings like 9* draw or 8* draw. However im loving the stock 9* with heavy weight forward. So no reason to even tinker for me.
