Relo to JAX

Looking at a Relo to JAX. What courses should I be looking to join? Trying to stay below $500 for monthly dues. Looking for a course that has a saturday/sunday morning "rack" or skins game and a good MGA. Current course has over 100 entries for every MGA tourney. Looking for similar experience in jax.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Ross, I moved here 4 years ago from south florida. Jax is awesome... tons of public courses to sneak out on, but also great higher end level private clubs as well. Believe it or not TPC sawgrass has a valley membership that gives you access to the valley course for $30 cart fee and play stadium for about $150. the valley is obviously a step under the stadium course but is 4/4.5 stars. great tough track. They were offering this for about $6-7k for the year but with the current state I saw an off the record deal for $5k. Marsh landing CC is also another great club, but access to only one course and an older member population is a little frustrating sometimes. theres so many courses, that its almost the same price to be able to hop around and play multiple semi/private tracks until you decide what part of town you are picking. I’m heading there this fall if everything falls into place. I’ve been in touch with the Palencia club. Don’t know much about the things you are talking about but the monthly is $490 for full membership. It’s a highly rated course with a huge clubhouse.

In the JAX area, do snowbird/retirees prefer the north or sound end? Any area like Amelia or Ponta Vedra Beach have a nice, walkable city center?

This is for down the road, but while Hilton Head is on my radar I want to learn more about the greater JAX area, too. A down to earth private club with a walkable course is preferred.
