Adidas Boost 360 or Puma Ignite ProAdapt

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of golf shoes. Been adding spikeless to the crop over the last few years mostly. Ecco Biom Hybrid 3 BOA and some True OGs and my favorite but hard to find nowadays Adidas Gripmore 1 and 2.

i have also increased the amount i walk. Used to ride almost all the time but would push on a clic gear 3.5 every 4th or 5th round. Now I'm carrying 2/3rds of the rounds. I just have more confidence in a spiked shoe. I have loved every paid of boost 360s i have had but when tryin on the Puma ProAdapt they feel great.

which one of these are a better waking shoe, for those who have tried both? Have you tried both? Or did you like the one you tried on and just stuck with it?

I have used and liked both. Started with the Adidas several year's ago and loved it. That model had the issue with the heel cloth wearing out quickly. When I went to the newer version last year, they fixed the heel problem, but the shoe didn't fit my foot as well. Not sure why. Got a pair of the Puma's this fall. Fit for me is much better and they are equally comfy. I have walked in both shoes and found them to be comfortable. Terrain around here is mostly flat, but the ground is very hard. Both shoes handle the hard ground well. My only complaint with the Puma is the wimpy spikes. Replaced them pretty quickly with something more aggressive. Either shoe should work well for you. To me the current Adidas is lower volume and narrower than the Puma of the same size.

Not sure what year 360 I have but I too had the heel hole form. It wasn't leather back there like the new ones (I believe). They were/are such a good stable comfy shoe. The best in that combo category. Some more comfy or more stable but together the 360 check that mark.

the puma were the first thing I have tried on that i thought were close. Felt super stable in store and seemed comfy but never walked in them other than around the storm.

I have used them both. I like both of the shoes but go with the Pumas much more. I don’t know if it makes sense but I feel closer to the ground in them and have no issues walking 36. They are both high quality leather shoes. I would try both on because they fit very different. I needed a wide in the adidas but the puma is regular width.

Edit: I see you said Puma ProAdapt not PwrAdapt.... Oops! Leaving post in case it happens to be helpful somehow anyway....

I have the Tour 360 XT-SL and the Puma Ignite Caged sitting in my house unworn and have been sweating the decision of which one to keep all week. One has to get returned. Well today's the day I (finally) get to play so I have to decide. I don't know how much this will help you much Minarets since I haven't actually played in either, but I have considered them in every other way I can in the last few days.

I think these are very evenly matched shoes, all things considered. The Adidas comfort can't be beat, but the Puma's are not far behind. At all. It's tough to compare the Puma's comfort indoors as the spikes on the bottom, which are fairly beefy, push into my feet a tad walking on hard floors, which I'm assuming won't be an issue on grass. Those same spikes I would think would give them a slight edge in traction, maybe. The Puma's breathability is presumably better, although the Adidas are not hot when I've left them on for a while. Both have a 1-year water proof warranty. Stability-wise I'd give the edge to the Adidas, but there is a bit of a floating sensation and perhaps detachment from the ground with them. It buys you that comfort for the walking part of things though.

Which leaves style and looks, and for me the Pumas fit my style better. They look better in shorts for sure. Although the Adidas look cool with pants IMO. So anyway, I'm going with the Pumas and it is literally (embarrassingly?) just because it's nice enough to wear shorts while playing today. Really hate to return the Adidas since they feel so great though. May try to convince myself to keep both.
