I'm so happy to be playing again!

I don't really play all that often (2-3 times a month), but after not playing during the two month shutdown and finally getting back out there yesterday, I realize I really missed playing! I was a marshal on the course while it was closed, chasing people off who were out for a stroll on the course or a few who tried to sneak on to play. That was fun, but it also made me miss the game. I was surprised how well I hit the ball (well most of the time!) after not swinging a club for almost two months. Maybe it was just good karma for being out there.

I hope all of you are now getting back out there and enjoying this game that is one of the safest ways of being outdoors..even with the new protocols in place.

Glad to hear it. I am playing my first round today...MA just opened up for golf. Be curious to see how it goes as I haven't hit balls or played in what seems like a long, long time.

I believe Quebec is the only place in North America where golf is still not allowed. Yay!

Thankfully i am still allowed to go out on much safer jogs through crowded parks the size of par-4's that have hundreds of people in them

Well I was allowed to play the whole time because they never closed Golf courses in SC. But now I am feeling what most of you guys are feeling as in no golf. I am semi retired and got injured at work last week. Took a nasty fall ended up cracking my L-3 vertebrae and my left scapula. Spent 3 nights in the hospital. If no surgery at least 6 weeks if I have to have surgery there is no telling---- So now I am feeling what you guys are feeling now

Courses in my neck of the woods started a phased re-opening this week. I'm assuming that the tee sheets are going to be pretty crowded for the next couple of weeks to accommodate pent up demand. I will probably wait before venturing out, but it will happen at some point.

I also find that the first round after a lay-off is typically pretty good as far as ball striking is concerned. I always go in with a "not expecting too much" mentality, and focus just on making solid contact. I wish I could keep that mindset all the time. For me, it's always the short game that suffers from a lack of play.

None in Ontario either brother. But yea I haven't missed a days work in a shop with 50 guys sharing a lunchroom and changeroom. Haha

Oh my mistake, i thought Ford had approved courses re-opening. Almost positive....did they say they were going to open and then pull it back?

Nope he just said the employees of the course can return to work and start preparing for when they do allow it. Boat launches are also still closed and barricaded by concrete blocks with signs saying "closed by police order" Bizarre. Canadian tires and other hardware stores are allowed to reopen tomorrow, and garden centers ect.

it's possible i dreamed it LOL....I was considering joining Hawkesbury this season and just driving to Ontario to play!

They opened this week in Alberta, they probably couldn’t of opened any earlier. That sucks but I imagine they’ll open soon for you, Quebec’s cases are still dropping.

They announced MD would be open on Wednesday and the first rounds on the local munis were played today. Potential frost tonight ☹️ Doesn’t matter I am playing tomorrow am and Sunday am. I cannot wait

Nice! Played my first round of the season today, started pretty cold. Gusting 40km/hr and raining, by hole 5 the sun was out. Very nice to be out there.

My League is starting back up next week.. Can't wait..

They are making couple of changes.. No more shotgun start.. They are also allowing walkers, which is nice..

It's going to be a long day..

I received a declaration form that my wife and I need to sign to play our course on Friday, so I assume we will be out there in a week or so. Considering that we had an inch of snow yesterday the province dragging its feet for a day shouldn’t matter.

as opening courses will be seen as “good news” that’s more of a Monday than a Friday thing.

I can’t wait to get out there, and it had better be soon because I’m buying a club every couple of days right now...

And golf is back! @MtlJeff As of Saturday were back in business, got a 830 tee time sat morning. 500th post to boot!

I imagine it's going to be a record year for golf memberships here. They will still probably all lose money due to no wedding or restaurant revenue, but still

I've played twice now...First time riding, second time walking. Our course was built for carts with long walks between some holes, and very big hills. First time I rode, I played surprisingly well. Hit a lot of great shots (for me) and only a few stinkers. Second time out walking, I pretty much stunk but still had fun. It was hard because everyone else was playing whites, I was playing golds so had to hit first all the time...and after a lot of long hikes to the tee. Also, our course has zero places to sit down on the course so I was getting a bit tired of standing for four hours straight. My tempo was way off the second time. Probably a combination of things, but it was fun to walk anyway! I'm trying to play once a week, but getting a time is difficult with the new protocol where they have stretched out tee time increments.

Our courses opened up last week and it's great to be back out with friends playing golf. The other day we were all talking about all the great things about being back on the course, & one gal said "and it gets us away from the refrigerator"!!!! I think everyone can relate. I know I don't get very hungry when I'm playing golf.....an apple for lunch will work for me.

Man, that sucks Stu! Hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery. Time to retire ALL the way?

I got out of playing as it's so hard to with my work schedule. I'm getting closer to retirement age but then this Damm Covid-19 hit so then I was experiencing the winter blues in the summer. Well now that courses are back opened I'm enjoying as I'm even going about upgrading some of my equipment real soon. Now there is talk of a 2nd wave of Covid-19 to hit. Oh good grief! I need to get off an get a quick round in now instead of being here.
