What bag of clubs do you wish you had back?

After reading Johnny Wunders article on the 962Bs it got me feeling nostalgic. I had a set of those and they were stolen from my truck along with a few other things. I loved the entire bag, there were clubs in there that would have stayed a very long time and are still some of my favorites, including the 962B.

Here is the Bag as close as I can remember:

Titleist 975D; Ei-70 stiff shaft

Callaway Steelhead Plus 4+; UST Proforce

Cobra Multi Material Iron; no idea on shaft and had to look this one up, it was their first hybrid and was similar to Taylormades first rescue club if I remember correctly.

Titleist 962B 3-PW; Rifle 6.0 shafts (before True Temper bought them)

Wedges I know I had a Cleveland 485 60* that I loved from the sand and for flop shots. I think my 56* was a 588 but can't remember.

Spalding TP Mills Computer milled putter - Think Scotty Cameron Circa 62 putters, this thing was gorgeous and had been in the bag for a few years.

I don't know why I remember this bag so well, I am guessing its because it was stolen but there are a lot of fond memories of these clubs. There is a chance I could still play that Callaway 4+ wood, I don't think I have had a 3 wood I liked as much as that one! The driver and irons were also amazing.

So what bag would you take back if you could?

These are ooooold clubs that was my first full set as HS freshman in 1965. (They were used even then).

I would want them mainly for "heritage purposes" and maybe let beginners try them out for fun.

That’s great. I remember my first adult set of irons, a hand me down from my dad, was the Wilson Staff FG-17. I dint remember what woods or wedges I had but this was late 80s as I was going into high school

1976 MacGregor Nicklaus Classics. My son has the bag and the wedge I got for the set, but the woods and irons are sadly gone.

If they would make the 07 cally x forged groove legal, id never look for another iron again. Still searchin..

My first set of Callaway x-22 tour irons. I have never had another set that just clicked for me. The 8-AW I was able to throw darts on a consistent basis. I have never been able to replicate the close proximity to the hole that I had with them....even 3 years later when I found another used set to try.

Feeling nostalgic about 5 years ago....

Some idiot thought selling some/all of these was a good idea. I’ve never played such good golf as I did with this bag.

I'd love to be able to use my current bag!

When i had my G15 irons, i also had a G15 driver with Speeder 757, an Adams BTY fairway with a Voodoo XPP8 shaft, and wedges that i had custom grinded myself that looked bad*......i guess that one

But to be honest i really like my current bag.

My best bag was the one I had from ~2007-2010.

Driver: Wilson Spine Driver 9* - UST V2 HMOI 66

Fairways: Cobra Speed Pro 15* and 18* - UST V2 76

Hybrids: Nike Sumo Square 20* and 23* - UST V2 Hybrid 86

Irons: MacGregor NVG2 Mid 5-PW - Dynamic Gold SL Sensicore (I think S300...I bought them used and the steps were really low so they might have been X100 or S300 HS)

Wedges: Titleist Spin Milled Oil Can 52* and 58* (or Nike VR Pro raw wedges...really could swap either) - Project X 5.5

Putter: Ping i-Series 1/2 Craz-E Belly putter

I documented in other threads like this how automatic that driver and those irons were for me. I am really trying hard not to buy a set of Mizuno Hot Metal Pros as they look almost identical to me as I like my current irons so much...it's likely just nostalgia as I had my first two rounds in the 70s with this bag. The driver was super forgiving and low spin, a rarity I didn't find magic with again until a G30 LS around 2014/2015. My current fairway woods are just as good as the old ones but I distinctly remember those being pretty good most of the time. The hybrids...ugly but man they worked. I haven't found two hybrids since that worked quite as nicely all the time. That putter though! I have never putted better than with that thing and I regret to this day selling it. I can't exactly use it anymore since they are illegal so I will just live with the fond memories in my head instead of tainting them.
