Back into golf after 10 years. What are my clubs missing out on tech wise?

Whats up fellow golf hackers. I've decided to get back into golf for some fun and excercise. It' s been 10 years since I have played.

My bag has the following clubs:

Irons: 2004 Taylor made Rac LT original with TT lite shafts ( not changing irons)

Wedges; Taylor Made Satin RAC wedges ( still good and love)

Putter: Yes Dianna midSlant ( plan to keep in bag)

Here is were Im not sure what im missing out on:

Drivers: #1 2009 Callaway FT Tour with Mitsibushi Javelin shaft ( suits me with 4.2 toruque and kick point is good) Bomb this.

#2 2000 Orlimar Hip Ti 420 with ALdila NV 55 ( still hit this well)

3 wood: 2005 Taylor made r7 Tp fuji vista pro (still hit well)

Hybrid : Nickent 3d ironwood. pro force v2

I plan on going to my buddies who has Trackman and hopefully compare a modern driver and see if they change anything. I think I would prefer something more classic with less weights and tools etc.

Should I expect to see big changes with modern equip? Not too many classic looking Drivers out there it seems..Cheers everyone!

I was away from the game for the most part for a long time till 2018 and yeah, the new tech kinda blew my mind at first. But where I found the only real significant difference is in shaft technology and just "woods" in general.

I think you'd get a lot out of a good driver, fairway and hybrid fitting. I had so many firm beliefs in my head that proved to be very wrong after I did one. Like back in the day, I always just played a 10.5° in a S shaft ... cuz I thought that's what was right for me. Did the fitting and saw my launch angle numbers were ridiculously high and wound up in a 9.5° and XS. I would have never in million years bought that if I didn't see the numbers to prove it was the right fit.

The only thing I got out of an iron fitting is that I perform better with lighter shafts.

Jailbreak cupface microspheres computer optimized faces in woods and irons from callaway.

Taylormade speedfoam twistface.

Mizuno chromoly hotmetal buttery goodness.

Ping ping. great stuff.

Pxg lots of nails in the heads and expensive.

Nikes gone.

Cobra is alot better.

Cleveland a notch better.

Wilson alot better.

Srixon pretty good i think.

Honma on the rise. I have a new set of tw 747p irons. Very good.

Scotty is the same. Odyssey same. Taylormade makes alot better putters now including what i think is their best spider x. I rolled a bettinardi and evenroll they felt pretty dang great. Underated. Most wedges are mostly the same i play callaway jaws. Tech has really advanced in woods and hybrids mostly i believe. If you find the right one for you with the right shaft and can swing ok... you will be getting accurate bombs mostly. Irons are all pretty good just seems to be like always.. just find a set that fits all your needs the best.

Tech wise? NONE.

Restrictions rule the industry. Unless you are going non conform equipments.

The only better is better fitting tools and skills. Better analyzed and fitting will enhance your feel and produce more ideal numbers.

But sometimes new bling is tempting and hard to resist. Welcome back!

Did this 18 months ago.

All my old c year 2000 irons, fairways, 2010 glued hosel driver were an issue.

Got newer, better equipment and bingo, hitting the ball (doesn't equal scoring) as good if not better than my younger, mid single cap prime.

Let newer equipment work for you, it's fun, too.
