How fast did you sell that “new” club *COvid edition*

Well not that I really needed a new 3 wood, but I recently purchased a g400 3 wood (that I thought would complement my driver) but my faithful gamer (Cleveland dst wood) has rightfully retained its spot until further notice. I swung it a couple times and couldn’t get past the loud tingy hit. It did well off the deck (where I converted the third shot for a birdie on a par 5) but off the tee this thing was not making me feel like I caught it great cause the sound was different than my Cleveland (solid twack noise)

needless to say I sold it just the other day after a round of golf (hit it less than 5 times total while owning it). Well fellas how did those purchases turn out. For me that was 4 days total of owning it.

What about you guys? How long did you keep a club and turn it around? (Pictures are optional, just wanted to share club)

I've got a new driver and full suite of new wedges coming my way. My PXG 3 wood is also new but i bought that in December so I hadn't been able to it. I have confidence in the driver and wedges as I know these styles and that usually work for me. It's just going to be the shaft that is going to be fun!

I bought a 12* Taylormade M6 with a senior shaft with my Christmas gift cards in January. I somehow convinced myself that was right for my swing. It didn't work well at all so I finally sold it last weekend. I bought a 10.5* Ping G400 with a regular shaft and it's working well so far. A friend has one and he let me play with his club before I bought mine. It's clear I should have demoed the M6. I won't buy another driver unless I get to play a round with it (or a demo).

Everything in my sig is new for this season, and I've picked up another 2 irons sets as well. Our season just started today, but no local ranges, so haven't hit anything yet, so things will stick around for at least a little bit longer.

Haha maybe its an Ontario thing! No idea how I ended up with so much change. Anyways, shot 76 today first round out after a month or so off the course. Felt great to be out there - 6 hour round though! I'll be interested to hear how you like your TM set. I'm vocally anti-TM but I really am enjoying these P760 I picked up. We are playing a very similar set as the 760 is like a combo of the 750 and 770 in one set.

When I committed to selling that wood, I was playing at a packed course and had a lot of stoppages. The time was getting to 4 hours I derailed my swing after going birdie par par. I couldn’t imagine waiting and playing out to 6 hours ??

Looking forward to getting them out to see how they play. Been in S400s for quite a few years now after dropping down from X100s, so no worries on that. If they don't work out, I have a 5-W set of S55s waiting and a set of iBlades in the mail from BC that will get here next week.

I found them weirdly clicky this go around? Was excited to see Scotty move away from the inserts but the feel did not do it for me like I thought it would. First round out with my Byron DH89 I sank a birdie on my first hole (great way to start the season!) and had 29 putts. Not bad considering!

I dodged a bullet this weekend nearly ordering an Odyssey Toulon putter from Callaway pre-owned without testing it in store. Was drawn in by a 35% off deal and lately I’ve been jumping back and forth between my Black i series no. 9 and my ProType no. 9... The PGA Tour SS just reopened so I made my way down and tried it out. Walked out very happy I didn’t give in to Friday night beers telling me to click the order button. I got to thinking about it, and it turns out my putting woes have only happened since I put the Z-Star XV in play for the past month. Great off the driver and irons, but I just cant get used to it off the putter, even with an insert. Time to dump that ball and go back to something with better feel.

do you think a different shaft combo might change that?

I like them evnrolls I don’t mind either finish but I’ve been putting very noicely, so I’ve been looking at putters like a usual ho but I know I don’t need it.

I don’t know about you but the Bridgestone tour b rx have been great across all clubs for me. Distance and spin have been great like any premium ball. Worth a look if you’re interested. I’ve been looking at the black series with the gss insert, but haven’t found many in good condition. Those Toulons weren’t too bad, I like the click I hear rolling one, but it’s always great to turn to those reliable clubs.
