The Grint and new WHS system

yesterday i paid the 19.99 for the official WHS through The Grint. Have been using the app for several years and have dozens of scores with them. Before paying, index was 5.4. After paying, index is now 9.7. All of my top 10 scores that would count are in the 70s. Makes no sense to me. I did link it up with a previous handicap number i had at another club from several years ago but that shouldnt matter as i have plenty of more recent scores. Anyone have any thoughts? I have reached out to them.

I used the Grint. Was using it before the change to WHS. I saw nothing unusual happen to my handicap. It did go up a full stroke since coming back from the 1 months lay off due to Covid...haha

contemplating on switch to The Grint PRO - trying to figure out how does the app calculate Approach Accuracy and Approach Proximity?

i'm guessing it only does it if you do Shot Tracking....?

I downloaded the app at the end of last year and never used it. I do want to get an official handicap but I'm not sure I want to use all of the other paid features on it. I really don't want to be dragging my phone out every shot to mess with it.

I have been using Grint for a year. It's pretty easy to keep score, I don't use shot tracking. After I finish the hole, I enter the basic stats, which is drive, left, middle, right.....how many strokes and of that how many putt. Buttons for putting in bunkers, or penalties, like OB and water. It's fast.

for those using Grint on iOS, do you know if the PRO subscription can be shared with icloud family members?

I paid the 19.99 for WHS and have not seen my handicap change. I’m guessing it is related to you using an old handicap number.

You can run the numbers yourself as a check. If its not working correctly, you should be able to contact them and get it fixed.

Well try getting them to add a club like an AW in the Mavrik Irons .... They added a Mavrik AW to the Wedge subcat from the Callaway tAb  with a PW, GW, and SW. I then told them again . They added a subcat called Mavrik PW, and a Mavrik GW and a Mavrik SW each with a PW, GW, and SW . They don’t get it. Other than that I use the pro version to get the bird’s eye view of the holes mostly. That part they get right.

By the way, under WHS it is the lowest 8 out of your last 20 differentials that count. The old system was best 10, now it is best 8.

As davep043 points out, you can literally just take the average of your best 8 differentials and it should equal your index. It's easy to check by hand with a calculator. 

[POSTSCRIPT] I have no experience with The Grint so I'll ask this...

If you don't pay for the official WHS handicap, does The Grint use USGA course/slope ratings in computing the unofficial handicap? Or does it do like Game Golf/Arccos/V1 Game/ShotLink and use its own formula based on the length of the course? I know when I've used various shot-tracking systems their pseudo-handicap estimate has always been much lower than my actual USGA Handicap. I'm usually in the 17.0-18.5 range of official handicap index but those systems tend to say I'm a 14 or 15 for some reason.
