GolfNow green fee increase during online booking

Last night I tried to book a hotdeal tee time for next Sunday using GoldNow. The green fee was $42 per person and I used two $10 credits (I am Golfpass+ member). The total was $148 on the screen. When I booked it, it was long hold and the confirmation page showed the total was $256. I found the green fee was changed $69/person. I seems the price was changed during the booking. I've never experienced the price change during the booking. It was like when I tried to buy a $148 putter and when I clicked the order button my credit card was charged $256. I called the member center this morning and explained what happened but the representative said she believed what I said but the tee time was never $42 but it was $69. It was very frustrated but there was no way to prove the green tee was $42. She also talked to her manager but was told the price change during the booking is not possible. I asked the full refund but she offered $88 future credit for hot deals for the price difference (it should be $108 since it is $256-$148) for one time courtesy. I didn't want to waist my time so I accepted the offer. My question is - did you experience the green fee changed during the booking when you use GoldNow? They typically post new tee times 7 days before in my area. I think I booked 12:20 am when a new time time was available.

prices change constantly on golfnow especially on hot deals. it can change in the checkout process so make sure it's the right price right before you press 'book.' sounds like you got most of your money back anyway.

Also read what the prices are for. There can multiple prices under the same time. Just looked at a tee time that had a hot for 23 and regular for 25 at the same time. Also make sure you actually booked the hot time because you may have booked the regular rate.

i refuse to use golf now mainly because of the fees and the fact they don’t have any good courses where I’m at, but is there any point to booking on the site if I’m not a member? Why not just call the course directly?

I always check with the course first before golfnow because sometimes you get a better deal directly without the stupid fees. I think the hot deals might be good once in a while but not great.

I am the OP.. Thanks for your advise. Yes. I got the most of my money back as a hot deal credit.. In fact I liked their customer service since they always tried to help.. But I think if the final checkout price is different from their system due to a price change the system should cancel the order instead of charging the increased green fee. I booked tee times more than 100 times using GolfNow last two years. I am a bit concerned since I usually don't review the final page and the final price. Their confirmation email don't even show the final price. This might not be the first incident.. BTW, how do you check the right price right before you press "book"? Do you search the same tee time using another device?

May want to start taking a screen shot prior to the booking screen. I’ve had a few quirks before where the hot deal time changed when we were trying to get multiple spots but both of us wanted to earn points. I am a golf pass plus member and even with their screwy system it is a great deal for me as a teacher. I can always use the M-Th after noon credits in the summers. Get my $$$ back in credits and balls pretty easily.
