TP5?

After watching the driving relief yesterday does anybody else want to start using TP5 balls? esp. the new tp5 PIX. I know that it was a big advertisement purpose for putting the biggest hitters in the match but still. Really wanting to try them out. I've just read that there are durability problems. Is that true? or is ProV1 still the better option?

If you don't need help with spin the TP5X is one of the longest balls on the market. Taylormade makes a very solid golf ball. I enjoy both the TP5 and TP5x. Best to do a ball fit if you can! The TP5 is much softer feeling and less click.

I've been using the TP5X for the last few years. Fantastic ball! I used ProV1x's for years prior.

I switched to TP5's last season after the whole ball cutting / off center core thing. I've been more than happy with how TP5's perform for me. PIX doesn't bother me at all so I play them as well as the all white. Really it's just whatever version I can find for cheaper when I go to purchase some. I don't see moving away from TP5's anytime soon...heck I've got about 10 dozen I'd need to get through first.

TP5/TP5X is very good, can easily play these or ProV series with no loss in durability or performance. I do find TP5X to be THE best ball I've played in the wind. YMMV so give them a shot

I've been using the TP5 for a few years now. Before that, I used the Penta and Lethal, and have enjoyed all of them. Plenty of spin around the green for me and great feel. I've never had complaints about durability. The only time I've had issues are the rounds where I'm spending time in the trees and hitting cart paths, so that's more because of me, and not the ball.

I like the TP5. TP5X is way to low spinning for me.

TP5X and the Bridgestone BX are my two preferred balls. Nothing about either has disappointed me.

As a very high spin player that plays in a lot of wind the tp5x and even the tp5 have performed the best hands down. Played a tp5 yesterday off the first tee as there is tight hazard on both sides and kept playing great so it stayed in play the whole round. Had 4 full wedge shots and the ball barely has a mark on it. I'll start my next round with the same ball. On holes into the wind I would normally play 2 clubs more I found myself hitting one club more.

TM has made a nice ball for the past 5 years or so. Their connection with Maxfli has been a good thing.

TP5/ TP5x are right up there at top of the golf ball market with Pro V/ Pro Vx, and Srixon Z star/ Z star XV. TP5x is the lowest spinning ball as others have mentioned, and is the longest off the driver for me. I just wanted a bit more spin around the green, and why I play Srixon Z Star XV. Keeps spin down off the tee, launches in a great window, but still allows me to put spin on it around the green.

is the TP5x clicky compared to the prov1 or tp5? clickier than the ProV1x

TP5 has been in my bag since last fall. Great golf ball. No durability issues here. Has performed well in the wind, too.

I already have been playing the TP5X...I don't need the extra spin on the TP5. Rather have it around the greens instead of driver and irons.

I've been using TP5 Pix for a few weeks and they are definitely not the most durable ball. By hole 7 or 8 I usually have some scuffing. Love the graphics though on chip shots and putts.

Is it clicky compared to ProV1x?

I do not find it to be clicky compared to ProV1X. It is definitely firmer, but not clicky.

Original TP5 pic on sale on TM. Awesome ball. TP5 and TP5x are also great and the new yellow is a good addition. Buy with confidence. But make sure it’s current gen.

thats also my observation with the TP5 and TP5x when going into the wind, I dont need to club up as much as with other balls, so at first I tended to go long until I figured this out. Same with new Tour BX.

ProV1x is more high pitched I find. I prefer the feel of TP5 almost any other ball off the putter.

The TP5 is a fantastic ball, and the Pix versions from last year can be scored at great deals - around $25/dozen. Switched to them last season and haven't looked back. Paying $50/dozen for other "premium" balls is idiotic when these are so good.

have to agree there, THIS IS the best ball deal in golf. Its EXACTLY the same ball as the "new" PIX 2.0, just with a different PIX pattern. this is not a Prior Generation or anything but they are selling it like it is. Amazing deal. Bought 3 dozens of them.

I actually preferred the previous version of the TP5/x. I lost distance with the newer ones and went back to the ProV1.

True! I don't have any complaints about this versions color scheme, so when I get a $10 GG coupon, I pick up two more dozen (again, coming in at $25 each). Definitely a score for a current ball.

I went out and tested the TP5 and TP5x and the X is firmer, flys farther and higher too. I had 203 to the pin straight away with not hardly any wind, if any it was with the ball, and I hit my 185-190 club and flew it to pin high with the X. Flew about as high as my 9 iron though.

No mystery there. All that can be deduced right from the info TaylorMade has put out on the balls.
