best lead tape

Anyone have a recommendation for the best lead tape -- highest density with best adhesion? I've tried it a few times and it always seems to fall off after not too long. This would be for a driver, so, hopefully can place on the sole without worrying about ground contact. Also, can you put lead tape on a shaft?

The stuff from golfworks.com always works well for me. You do have to make sure the surface is clean and it helps to be a smooth surface. And finally, take some time after applying to rub it in fairly firmly with somthing hard, like the butt end of a screw driver. That last part can make a huge difference in keeping it from coming off.

Yes, you can put it on a shaft.

re your driver, if your trying to increase the head weight only, instead of applying the tape to the rear of the head, you can put in on the sole, just make sure the tape runs perpendicular to the face.

I always use golfworks high density, never fails. Make sure to clean the area you are going to apply, I use rubbing alcohol.

I have lead tape on every club in my bag. EVERY. SINGLE. CLUB.

Some it is on the head, some is high on the shaft, and some is at the balance point of the shaft.

In my search for a graphite shaft, the one I found that gave the best spin and launch numbers for me, was too light to give me good strikes consistently. So almost every iron has lead tape on the shaft.
