Ping G400 LST Crack

Was warming up for my round this morning and cracked my driver head. I have decent speed but nothing crazy. Was just wondering if anyone has had this happen recently and what Ping did. G400 is a generation old so probably out of warranty, but from reading seems like they have good customer service. I dropped it off at my club this afternoon and they are getting in contact with ping for me. Little upset cause I have been hitting the driver great the last few rounds.

Ping has good service. I'd be surprised if they didnt do something for you. let us know how it goes.

As long as it’s less than 3 years from purchase date, you should be covered. They’ll replace it for free.

I have a friend that cracked his just like that one, must be a weakness there.

I am not sure when it was purchased unfortunately. I bought a G400 Max about 2.5 years ago and traded that for the LST at some point last year. Hopefully it was less than 3 years.

I’d be shocked if you don’t get a replacement. Clearly you didn’t split the driver on that spot on the crown by some fault of your own.

I cracked a face of a G30 LS TEC last year and they offered me a new G Driver (it was 10.5) and a G400 that was also 10.5 I believe and not an LST model both free, my other option was a G410 for half off after they just dropped the price 100 bucks, so I got a band new G410 lst with my choice of loft and shaft for 1/2 price....... all in all it cost me just over $200 with tax.

I cracked a G400 Max in the same spot a year ago. Ping took care of it for me.

I have seen 2 crack similar to that, and on both occasions PING offered several replacement options including a low price on an upgrade to the latest release.

As expected Ping came through for me. They don't have anymore G400 LST heads laying around so they are sending me out a G410 LST head instead. Now just need to get the tip changed on my Ventus,

Ping usually have great customer service and you should get a new one without any trouble.. i Can´t say if Ping drivers cracks more often than other brands, but i had an G30 LST that cracked in the hosel a few years back, got a new one and that cracked as well but in the clubface.. Choose to switch to another brand after that and have stayed away from Ping drivers ever since. Too bad because it´s hard to beat their drivers when it comes to forgiveness/distance combined.

This is why they always replace clubs. Good pub goes a long way. Most of us will remember this when buying clubs.

My G400 LST cracked right there a couple weeks ago. I gave it to my club to send back but who knows when Ping will be able to deal with in this situation. Funny thing is that I thought I hit a real good shot with it. I hit it high on the face wanting to be sure to carry a tree midrange downfield if I turned it a bit too far to the left, but it was not a popup. But it sounded more like a gunshot at impact and the ball came up about 40-50 yards short of what I would have expected, despite the rest of the flight being great. It had no zip whatsoever. Odd that I also have a Ventus Blue, and not knowing how long it would take, I bought a used G410 Plus with a Ventus Black. If I get a new G410 LST, I can mix and match both heads and the Blue and Black shaft til I find what really works best, just will have to reshaft the tip on the Ventus Blue.

I have the worst luck with PING, everything I buy from them falls apart lol!

S-O-L with this one I guess, It was easily my favorite driver And never wanted to change.

Take the head into a reputable store that sells Ping and ask if they can help.  Ping is usually pretty good about covering their gear.  It's worth a shot.

I did, and we called and spoke with ping. They said unless I have a physical copy of the receipt from within 3 years then they won’t cover it.

Ah thats a total bummer.  Sorry to hear..  best try and find a used one here or ebay.  I just got a 10* head I am going to put in play this week.  That whole line was great.  Sorry for your loss!!

This is why I don’t buy to many clubs off the BST (especially drivers and fairways). When returning for warranty they usually want the proof of purchase

Ping will replace it.

Covering exposed shaft prep...probably shaft from a different adapter or you didn't have a soft ferrule and re used that adapter 

My point being - the crappy ferrule job vs just letting the exposed shaft prep be

Call Ping customer service. They will replace it. 1-800-528-0650

I have no idea why I clicked on this thread thing this was going to be someone saying they were so addicted to the G400 it was like crack. 

I mena the crack is pretty gnarly but..  I dunno I was expecting something else. 

Guess there’s something about that spot
