Measuring Driver Length w/ 60* lie angle rule

I recently purchased a club length ruler where the lie angle is set to 60* regardless of the club being measured.. My question is if I were to use this device to measure the playing length of a standard lie Taylormade M3 440 driver (where lie angle will be more upright than 60* I believe), how far off will my measurement be from the actual dynamic playing length when the driver head is soled in the center? Will actual playing length be shorter or longer than the measurement my 60* lie angle rule gives me? By how much? Is there an equation I can use to be able to take the measurements this ruler gives me and adjust them based on how far off the actual lie angle is from 60*?

My apologies if this has been answered before, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not enough to worry about for most people - but a more accurate answer will depend on what setting you are using on the hosel adapter (and therefore what the actual lie angle of the head might be).

At the standard setting the lie angle of the head is 56* - so at 4* off, I'd estimate the length would measure out around 1/8-3/16" longer than it would be if it were measured at the actual lie angle. For anything more exact I'd have to test out on a ruler

I've been using it on the standard loft and lie setting.. I had kind of figured it couldn't be too much of a difference, but thank you much for confirming my hunch.

On second thought, isn't a lie angle of 56* flatter than the 60* ruler? Wouldn't that make the actual measurement slightly shorter than what the club length rule gives me? Anyone?

The USGA standard (only TM uses that), is a ruler with a flat sole at a lie angle of 60*

A driver with a actual lie angle below 60* will measure longer - we lower the center of the sole vs the grip end

a driver with a higher lie angle than 60* will measure sorter. - we raise the mid of the sole and reduce distance from the sole to the center of the grip.

IRON measure the same way, but we dont see them that way.....so this can be very confusing since lie angles on irons is about "low vs high hands at impact" so we go upright to deliver the grip higher up for the player....1/8" = 0.25* for irons, so we can either add 1/8" or go 0.25* more upright, the grip will be at the same height above ground then. (2/8" = 0.5* and 4/8" = 1.0*)

For the driver, Actual length difference on the ruler from 58* to 60* is about 1/8" longer at 58* vs 60*
