Favorite New Wedges

What wedges is everyone preferring this year? For me the raw T20s just have a look I enjoy. Vokeys and MDs have just fallen off for me since SM6 and MD3s.

I know I left of Miura, Fourteen etc in the poll but was only allowed 10 options.

I recently got some TM MG2s and really like them (switched from SM7s). Feel great and look fantastic.

Actually surprised that Honma would be on there over Muira and Fourteen.

Second this. Love the MG2s. Switched from SM6s that I had probably worn down and the spin difference was real. Not as many bounce/grind options as SM8 but MG2 came in what I felt like I needed (basically full soles with bounce north of 8).

Wasn't a fan of the look of the HiToe, but most of TM's tour staff seems to disagree with me there . . . They seem to have a better grasp on playing golf than me.

Just got the NEW Fourteens, FH Forged V1 wedges, 54* & 58*. I have played the Fourteen RM 22's for several years even tho I would venture out and do stints with other wedges.

Last being Titleist SM8's. Just sold the SM8s. I have also played the Titleist TVD K grind which I still consider a great wedge.

Fourteen knocked it out of bounds with the FH forged V1. Forged feel, spin and sole (triple grind). Beyond any expectation I could of imagined.

My new Maltby Tour Grind 56 wedge with the DBM finIsh is great. So much spin, and the grind makes opening up the face a breeze.

I've put in a vote for the RTX4, which I chose after testing a lot of other wedges, but I should add that I got the RTX4 Forged...and I did prefer them over the normal RTX4 which I also tried.

They did win MGS most wanted testing haha

I switched to PXG...forged wedges...they fit in my new PXG irons...they are little lower on trajectory but I like the control of them.

I am usually behind the curve on wedges... I just got an SM7 56*… have only had it out for a couple rounds but man, that thing sticks! Dunked one from 70 yards out yesterday for eagle so this thing is quickly getting some love. I have had trouble straying away from Vokey honestly.

RTX 4 is hard to beat. Great looks, raw option, s400 stock shaft and a great price.

Im hovering at about a 5 right now, but if I could ever get more consistent with chipping/pitching I'd shoot par more often.

I use a MD4 58 for most my green side shots.

Any wedges noticeably more forgiving on tight Bermuda lies?

Maybe adjust your bounce lower?

came from using the sm7 wedges to the ping glide 3.0 that a buddy gave me. Gotta say I was skeptical at first but have ended up loving the feel and control ?‍♂️

The Raw T20’s are just so good for me in terms of spin and distance control.

T20s in my bag but the new Bettinardis are calling my name

Tommy Armour VCG. Forged, carbon steel, raw finish and you can get them for about $80. Id challenge anyone to show me a Vokey or Callaway wedge that outperforms them.

The betti's would give my T20s more run for the money if they weren't so busy. Way to much writing and crap on them.

Normally I feel the same way but these caught my eye and I like the idea they’re made locally, Ive been to the studio and they’ve been awesome to work with.

I didn’t think the RTX4 were forged? My SW and LW are cast but they feel superb to me regardless.

I just keep buying S18's. Older but cheap now and the grind and feel just work for me.

I think they were a Japan-only or Asian market release. Not available in some lofts (no 54*, unfortunately), but very nice. I tried the cast ones as well, and they were good, but the forged sounded better.

I can only imagine haha.

Ive played forged my whole life so I didn’t mind switching it to cast for the added wear factor.

Surprisingly, the RTX4 cast are very soft as my club maker gave very little effort in bending the lie and loft.

Yep, the cast RTX4 felt fine as well. I might end up buying a 54* one of these days, as my MD2 54* is getting a bit sorry looking.

I was choosing jaws wedges when an auction popped up on Haywood golf Instagram.

yadayada and now I have a 3 wedge set. beautiful forged clubs, grooves are at the limit, high rev shafts are terrific. Very soft and responsive and art like in the bag.

I can’t wait to hit them on every hole. And they are a Bargain.

I'm a sucker for Vokeys, just always played them and love the shape looking down at them. The SM8s were a very welcomed update and going back to 52-56-60 really feels great. Spent a lot of years trying to get cute with my wedge setup, but 52-12, 56-10, 60-8 is a no BS setup that is working great. Spent the extra money to get S400s in them and its a noticeable difference.

I think he didn't buy the Jaws wedges, and went instead for the Haywoods.
