Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash - a different experience

Over the past 10 years, my primary ball has been the ZStar XV. I have also played the Chrome Soft X, BXs, ProV1, and Pro V1x. But 85٪ of the time, I play the XV.

I really like this ball. The other Titleist options spin too much on wedges for my swing.

The Pro V1x left dash is a great ball! Feel is better than the XV, and the left dash is is very long. I didn't notice loudness from the driver. Just seemingly less side spin and slightly higher ball flight. I am sure there are balls as long, but I don't think there is a longer ball. As for spin, on firm greens and fairways, well struck gap wedges spin back about 6 feet. Nine irons hit and stop next to the ball mark. Six irons roll out about four feet. Greenside spin is greater than the XV but a little less then the BXS. Putting feel is a bit firmer than the ProV1x, but not harsh. The ball reminds me of what the Pro V1x was five years ago.

For reference, my driver swing speed is between 103 and 105 mph. Temps were high 80s. Handicap 3.

Ive been playing it regularly for the past 8-10 rounds now. It’s an updated version of the original ProV1x and its becoming more known for sure. I was paired up with a random guy at TPC Scottsdale as part of our group this week and we were both playing the left dash. One of my favorite balls ever, and other than being a little firmer feel than I remember from back then its a major performer. The Bridgestone Tour B X is very similar in feel and flight, but spins a little more around the green and a little more in the middle irons.

I had another great round yesterday with the left Dash. Shot 3 over and due to bad course management on my part could of been my all time low round of the league. I holed out a wedge from 100 yards and it was a perfect one hop, check, spun back into the cup. Pretty cool to do in front of alot of members of my league. My boss that I play with regularly has always been a Prov1 player was constantly 20-30 yards behind everyone of my drives and was playing 1 club more into the Par 3's. Both of us are AP2 players and you could see the clear advantage with the lower spin ball and lower and flatter trajectory. The LD has the same trajectory as the 2020 Prov1 but it just has less spin with every club other than the wedges. 100 yards in the LD ball is just brilliant. Perfect linear distance control and drop and stop performance. Had 3 holes where is was 55-56 yard approach and was no more than 10' for birdie. More stopping power than an AVX but less than both 2020 ProV1 models. I would say its similar to the TP5X. I actually have to grab a yardage book for the greens and make sure Im attacking these pins correctly. I had two 3 putts where I landed the ball on the high side of the slope and left myself difficult downhill side putts on bumpy greens. After I walked up to the ball I was kicking myself for not being below the hole. The LD combined with a TS3/Smoke is just a monster on firm fairways. Tons of roll out over my TS2/Rogue driver I was previously using. Im seeing more similarities of the 2020 Prov1 and 2019 AVX with the firm feel of the Prov1x. The 2020 ProV1x launches too high and spins too much. I have not found a negative quality of the ball yet other than you cant seem to buy it anywhere.

Its a good ball, but if you havent tried the tp5x yet, thats the OG if you want long, firm and lower spin with short irons/wedges.

Anyone could've ordered them during Titleist buy 3 dozens and get one free promo. I ordered my left dash with my user name stamp but due to COVID, I'm still waiting for my order to arrive. I bought a dozen from my club pro back in March and loved the way it performed for me.

This ball is the real deal. Played 15 rounds it’s it now and it long off the driver. I give up some long iron spin but spins enough on short irons and wedges for me. I bought direct from Titleist.
