Watch 1986 Masters for a good laugh

I'm watching 1986 Masters final round on Masters app on Apple TV.

Turn on the closed captioning for a really good laugh. The number of "aliases" for Seve Ballesteros on the bottom of the screen are hilarious. From "Buy Stereos" to "Saudi Bast*rd"... One has to wonder what computer program butchered this up. About every fourth sentence is good for a laugh.

Image quality is pretty good for 1886; better than the original. Everyone talks about how it was Norman blowing the Saturday lead, but really it was Seve who had it firmly in grasp and let it slip. And I certainly didn't remember everyone thinking Jack was blind!

Ballesteros' father recently passed away before the 1986 Masters.

He really wanted to win.

Talking of Seve, I’m always amazed how solid he hit his shots. It made an incredible sound. Yet his lasting trait is his short game.

Jack’s back 9 on Sunday in 1986 was a great example of how he could just will the ball into the hole. Jack simply knew how to win golf tournaments in a way that only Tiger can relate to.

Love the remastered broadcast as well, by the way.

Seve was a picker. He practiced mid irons on a wet beach.

Pretty dang clean.

Why did Seve Ballesteros' Nike visor at the 1986 Masters have two Nike logos on it?

I still watch that video of his warmup at Wentworth like once a month. It's such pure poetry. I'm pretty sure if I was able to do that, I'd just quit the game. Nothing else to accomplish . . .

Loved everything about Seve, his love for the game, his scrambling, pure striker of the ball, his temperament, always searching for a swing tip, always searching for his ball(LOL) he was the man. I think Phil is alot like Seve

Just not as much charisma. Seve was wild though. All over the place.

Crazy that that pretty of swing was that wild. I watched a Toyota Tournament of Champions (might check that name) where he was in a match against JN. He was wild in it too but he hit it a pretty long ways. His scrambling was unreal though. How PM is with a wedge, Seve was that way with all sorts of short game shots and clubs to pull them off.

My memory from watching Seve play on TV was that he never hit from the fairway.

Which makes him mystique even that much greater..
