Mavrik fairway woods

I have a standard Mavrik 7w with smoke 80 in it, one of my favorite clubs in the bag

i tried a SZ 3+ with rogue white, hated it.

Any feedback on std 3w/5w?

anyone play the 3w with 80g shaft?

What did you not like about it? I’ve never gotten along with hazardous shafts, but love aldila shafts... it might be a shaft issue and not a head issue, but a 13.5 three wood isn’t for everyone.

id assume a regular three wood with the smoke 80 in it will play great for you.

I think it was the shaft possibly, tried the same in the driver, no go.

i am considering doing all 3 the same, standard 3/5/7, all with smoke 80

I have the 5W in a SZ. Love it. Absolutely love it. I got fitted for it with an upgraded shaft and cut an inch short, so I can hit it really well and have a lot of confidence. Highly recommend it.

Funny, had a basically brand new rogue SZ 5w in my back up bag, had not hit it. I have had a few struggles with the little F9 tour heads I played all last season, so put the rogue in the other day, just hitting it dead straight, hit a par 5 in 2 yesterday with it, not sure that spot needs changed now.

Of course since I posted a WTB ad for a Mavrik 3w, changed settings on my F9 Tour 3w with Ventus Black, and it came alive this weekend.

i May hold off on the 3/5 spot for now, but I think I will go this route with the 80 shaft If I make a change.

Had the Standard Mavrik 15* with Riptide 70 and topped 2 balls in the fairway on a par 5. Switched to my Cobra F9 set to 15.5 with HZRDUS Red and proceeded to hit the green, made the putt easy par.

Sold the Mavrik the next day and I am a Callaway wood slappy. Just didn’t fit my swing as I had struggled with it at the range.

Playing the Mavrik SZ driver and some old Steelhead fairway woods. 3 wood or 4 wood is typically a Callaway as well but didn’t care for the EF sound and feel last year so took a chance on the F9 and it has been very good. Played the Rogue before it and original Epic SZ, and most of the other Callaway’s before it and especially liked the X2 Hot Pro a few years back.

Going to wait for a while, see how prices drop.

i have 4 different woods in the bag, but whatever works.
