Best 50 degree wedge for a square shot (mostly full and half)

while I do plenty of different shots for 56 and 60 wedges, I usually hit my 50 wedge for a square shot whether full or half. Which gap wedge is the most stable one for a square full shot? Nothing wrong with my current wedge (RC DB wedge), but just want to try a newer wedge after trying newer wedges (I recently got pm grind 19 56 60 wedges and i love them. they just suit my game perfectly).

I think playing the gapwedge from your current ironline is a good option!

Pm grind goes down to 54 degrees. So many great wedges out there. Think getting a grind to fot your swing would be key. Muzuno sc 18 wedges at budget golf new are a great price

I agree that if full and half shots are what you are doing than the set wedge is the ideal option.

Vokey F grind

I have to second the s18. Especially now that they so cheap.

I have the original callaway apex irons including gap wedge and also have md4 56 and 60.

I like the apex gap wedge on full shots, but it lacks control on half shots, chips and pitches. I am in the the process of ordering the 2019 apex pro forged gap wedge to tryout. Hopefully it will provide better control, without sacrificing forgiveness on full and half shots.

Maybe a wedge worth considering if you are not looking for a blade.

I have the PM grind 54,60 and a vokey 50.12. I use the vokey for full shots and straight faced chips and it works very well.

I dont hit half shots or pitches with the vokey. Those shots are solely for the PM grinds.

I've love my RTX4 50 degree gap wedge. Comes with S400 shaft, overall a great value imo. Had mine flattened 2 degrees and it's been money for me from 110-125 yards.

Id say either get a callaway wedge to mage your pm grind wedges or a set wedge to match your irons... you don’t want a weird odd man out between those clubs... trust me on this! (Playing a sm7 50 degree with a s300 built to match a set I didn’t pull the trigger on). It’s close enough that it isn’t worth changing, but I creates unnecessary variance in my wedge setup.

What set of irons do you have? Buy the gap/approach wedge.

A set Gap wedge or some like a CBX from Cleveland if your strike isn't the best.

If you're consistent with strike, vokey, Mack daddy, etc... Take your pick.

I have 10 years old callaway legacy irons. I tried others but just don't see a reason for different irons as I hit them well and it feels just great. Perhaps, it would be quite hard to get a gap wedge of the same iron..Wow, they are very cheap. I will definitely try it. Thx!!I liked voikey before my RC wedges. will try it out! thx!That's one of my issues. As my RC wedge shaft is s200 and PMs are KBS, i kinda feel the slight difference. it hasn't bothered me so far but i know it will when i'm under pressure :)

So i guess i will try vokey F, SC18, and Mack Daddy, and Cleveland ones. Good to have different options!!

F grind is a 'full, traditional' grind for full and square face shots

This is true, unless your set GW is clunker. (About half the set GWs I have tried are clunkers).

If your set GW is a no-go, here are some 50° "square shooters" ...

If your irons fit you play the set GW. The GW is more or less what an old school PW used to be before lofts got jacked up.

Extra wedges in modern sets and what iron # is marked on the sole has less to do with how they may fit your gaps than the actual loft and length.

I have no issue with strong lofts as I play 0211’s and previously played Power Spec Ping i210 and TM P790.
