Golf Avenue Canada CS terrible

An FYI for those in Canada looking to purchase anything from Golf Avenue. Just purchased something from them for the first (and last) time and their customer service is awful and the worst part is they are very unapologetic about their pi*s poor service as well.

If anything goes wrong or they mess anything up, don't expect an apology nor anything to be done about it.

God, I can't wait for the border to open back up so I can stop dealing with second rate Canadian companies and crappy Canada Post.

Sorry for the rant but if this stops even just one person from purchasing something from them I'll be happy.

What went wrong? I',m in Australia and have brought two sets of irons from them and never an issue. This was a few years ago maybe standards have dropped?

I buy from them all the time, zero issues.

OP, can you describe your issue with a little more detail? I just want to know who's being unreasonable.

Long story short, there's a glitch in their system when adding a discount code. What the total was on the checkout page was not the same as what I was charged. Obviously I was charged more.

I don't mind there being a glitch and I never asked for anything but they literally could not care less about the discrepancy.

I was over the $199 for free shipping. I added a discount code for being a first time customer. After adding the code, the totals on the right hand side of the page still said, $0.00 for shipping and ~$205 for total after tax.

I clicked "purchase" and received an email invoice for ~$215. Again, not where I have the biggest issue. I get it, websites can have glitches. And it's on me to know that I wouldn't qualify for free shipping post discount.

My issue was that when I brought this to their attention via email, their reply was basically a one liner and after some back and forth, they were completely unapologetic about it. I'm sure 99 times out of 100 there would be zero issues with them.

Does the $199 qualify you BEFORE the 1st timer discount?

If you get the free shipping before and after the discount, than this is really a non starter.

To that point - if your email backs up your concern - then it solves itself.

In my experiences, they've been fair to work with. As for Canada Post, they just suck. I have nothing for that.

They buy a lot of the trade ins from Golftown and resell them online. I have caught them selling my clubs with incorrect information

One time they labelled a driver i had traded in as "never been hit" and "brand new" .... this was a driver i had played several rounds with and that would have been obvious to anyone.

That's surprising. I'm in Canada as well and never had a single issue with about a dozen purchases.

Have had a number of orders and traded in things to them and all have gone smoothly. Even had a miscommunication wrt to a club I bought and had sent to a friend, they paid for shipping back and had another club out to him within a week. The only complaint I have with them is their pricing, not CS. To freak out over a discount shipping code and try to slag them is pretty small potatoes and boarder line embarrassing, for you...

Agreed. Prices are high but they take a photo of every item unlike GG. So, you kind of get what you pay for I guess? CS has been great for me.

Purchased many clubs from them. Never had any issues. Also never had issues with returns either.

Agreed, I've rage emailed GG on occasion as I really wanted to buy things, but didn't want to pull the trigger because of no pics (older sets of forged irons), even tho I know I can return it no prob.

After reading this, I purchased a club from them last night. Will report back on how the transaction went.

Yes I qualified for the free shipping before discount. After adding the code the totals did not change which was the reason for my confusion.I don't think I "freaked out" but I'll admit in hindsight maybe I didn't need to post on WRX. And as I said, it wasn't about the discount, it was their customer service I was complaining about. I emailed them originally to express my confusion and inform them that they had an issue with their website and check out process, not to demand anything. If an employee of mine replied to a customer the way this guy did over my own website issues, he would need to receive some retraining.

If this is your first experience with them, then I have no idea what to tell you... You're going to be in the small minority here, trying to crap on a Canadian company in a cut throat market/business. The fact you came on here to actually start a thread about this shows you freaked out, over not getting an apology basically for a system error that may or may not been their fault (was the $205 figure after tax?). Then go to the point of trying to stop them from getting future business because of such a small thing... I'm a self admitted Ahole, but at least I'm not this petty...

Don't worry about it...... We've all been there at least once in our lives.... I can guarantee I've been there at least twice.

OP in his post said total was $205 after tax. Being that there's a 5% GST ( in some provinces there's added PST so it ends up more than 5%), that means the total before tax can't be more than $195 after dsicount. Free shipping is over $199 after discount applied. So it seems like a glitch.

They've also just recently revamped their website. Maybe the glitch was part of that. I remember when I bought a club from them last year, the purchase confirmation wasn't apparent t me. The wording made it seemed like I was going to be sent to another page to confirm my purchase, I click 'Next' and voila the order went through! Glad I didn't have second thoughts about buying.

FWIW this was the order confirmation page before clicking purchase. I was charged $215.21 after clicking purchase.

Anyway, lesson learned. Moving on

Never had a problem with them but I always buy from them through Ebay. Always free shipping.

Also have never had a problem with them. A friend bought a bag, they sent him the wrong one (I don't recall the issue) so they sent him the proper bag, and didn't even want the first one back as it would cost them too much to ship it. Seems like decent service to me.

I've made many purchases with them and my last two were not so great to say the least. I bought a f8 left handed and they sent it to me with a rh shaft... Took me a while to figure out, everything was reverse. My last one was recently, I ordered a xstiff hybrid(lh). They sent it through ups, I waited a couple of weeks and no news from them or ups (on golfavenue tracking app, it still said item ready for pick up). I then sent them an email to know what's up. They then explained, that they didn't know what happened and that there was an issue with the delivery. Their next step was to open an investigation with ups. In the end they replied to me that I have to wait 8 buisness days for a possible refund and meanwhile I can't order anything else or ask for the credit to be transfered. They weren't apologetic about it and didn't offered me some kind of compensation for all that time wasted. For sure I won't recommend them to any one I know and also there prices are jacked up.

P. S: forgot to mentiom that there warehouse to my house is a 30 minutes car ride ? and that I couldn't pick my items up because of the current pandemic situation.

Just received my club , was supposed to be here yesterday, but this was a Fedex issue.

No issues with the purchase, product exactly as advertised.

Would certainly use again.

I bought from them over a year ago, my one and only time. I don't remember exactly what went wrong, I just remember swearing I will never use them again and I haven't. I avoid them at all costs. I was so pissed that when I went to leave feedback on ebay I forgot to hit "negative" and gave them the standard "positive" even though my feedback said otherwise. They suck.
