Need suggestions for a no-slip golf glove in the heat and humidity.

The humidity here in southeast GA is brutal, not to mention the heat. My FJ Weathersoft gets "slippery when wet." Can anyone recommend a glove that won't slip when wet? Thanks, Ed

I use Mizuno or Foot Joy rain gloves in the Florida heat and humidity. Most of the time I can get away with just the left glove. But when it gets really hot and humid I use left and right gloves at the same time. Prior to using rain gloves I've had many clubs fly out of my hands. You can wipe sweat away with the gloves without worrying as they work better when wet as they were designed.

Is weathersoft a full leather glove? I say this because leather will retain grip until it is saturated with sweat. The synthetic ones usually fair better, but the fall off of grip is sharper. In a humid environment the synthetic glove will struggle. The rain gloves help a lot, but the feel is different. I usually keep 3 leather gloves in rotation on those hot and humid days, and when it is brutal I opt for am FJ riangrip - TN here...

Humidity is rare here, but I think this might work. Caddy Daddy Claw. Nicely breathable and lots of grip.

If you are using a leather glove, I recommend taking it off between shots, when sweating. It will last longer and won't soak through.

leather grips like BestGrips Microperf helps too. They get tackier with moisture.

Use two or three gloves during your round. The gloves will last longer, and you'll avoid the slipping issue. Rotate them every 2-3 holes.

Rotate out three gloves around typically. Use a FJ rain glove on occasion but it does have a different feel. Been experimenting with I think it’s called Gorilla Grip From Dick’s. It’s a piece of fabric that you place in your hands and squeeze. Have to reapply every so often but seems to help both hands and it does not leave a residue on your glove. I live in South Mississippi so it gets hot and humid here as well.

Using Asher golf premium glove and take off between shots. If you like to leave on for round check out Asher Chuck gloves

Thanks for all the replies. I think the Foot Joy rain gloves might be worth trying. Not a big fan of taking gloves on and off through a round. The Foot Joy Weathersoft has two leather pieces in the palm, just enough to get slippery , and the rest is synthetic. Maybe having two or three available is an option.

I agree with the recommendations for full leather (not synthetic) and rotate as necessary. You could probably get by with 2. Also perhaps try some of the hand antiperspirant products. They work pretty decent in my experiences.

Not wanting to take a glove off between shots, in the Georgia summer, basically shuts this whole thread down. That's like saying I don't want to get any more speeding tickets, but I also don't want to stop driving at excessively fast speeds!

Put your leather glove on before your first practice swing prior to the shot, play the shot, take the glove off. It's a simple process and will become second nature. Rotate between as many gloves as needed throughout the round, never letting any one glove get very damp (where it starts to change color from sweat) before using the next. Keep the front of the gloves open to direct contact with the air and sun as you walk/ride, and make sure they are not wadded up. Growing up in middle Georgia, I usually had 4-6 gloves that I would use throughout the round, which was always sufficient. I also had hyperhidrosis (really sweaty hands) and could make it work during the middle of the day while walking.

Try checking out the Claw glove by Caddydaddy golf. Takes a bit of getting used to with the silicon grip(similar to receivers and batting gloves) but it breathes like nothing else out there.

Same issue here in Texas. Hot and humid. Glove is soaking wet after 15 shots on the range.

Went to Callaway rain glove and haven't looked back. Amazing. Can keep it on between shots as well.

Ran gloves~ pretty much any brand. Keep them on even when putting, otherwise hard to get back on...

Another vote here for ditching the glove all together and going with full leather grips. I use the Bestgrips MicroPerf and they work perfectly in the heat and humidity of SE Texas. And, since you aren’t spending money on multiple sets of gloves per year, you actually save money.

Just wear a rain glove or gloves. Problem solved.

Rain gloves are the only real solution. Footjoy used to make a sta cool glove, which was basically a single rain glove, but for some reason stopped making them.

I have had success using rain gloves. It was either that or go through 3 or 4 regular gloves a round in the hot humid days.

Has to the the FJ Rain Grip. If it can deal with 18 holes of being soaked without losing grip, it can deal with 18 holes of sweating.

I rarely wear one, but we've had a run of high humidity 90s weather, and we get that sometimes and I sweat a bit, lol, so those are the times I use one. Actually had my best round in forever wearing a Nicklaus glove my wonderful daughters got me for Father's Day - I may never take it off!

FootJoy leather gloves work fine for me, I take it off between shots and even on the most humid of days just wear it to tee off and for approach shots - around the green it's off. Also make sure I have at least two available on a super humid day and never have any issues.

I admire those that can play in the rain type gloves, I guess I need to practice with one on, just can't adjust to the different feel.

From GA as well. I started playing with FootJoy rain gloves last year - they are all I use now.

I did the 4-5 traditional leather gloves in the past, even that is no solution for GA humidity/heat. It is brutal here.

Footjoy RainGrip - they come in black and white/offwhite.

They last a long long long time, I can wear 1 the entire round, every day. Incredibly durable. Great grip - no complaints. I do not have the problem of removing between shots.

Grippy enough for me; I play Lamkin UTX cords. Never really have a slipping problem, even in the rain. Definitely not your traditional glove, as the main material is some sort of spandex/lycra. But incredibly cool and comfortable.

From a no glove wearing Bestgrip microperf using golfer in Thailand - the norm here is 30-32 degC (around 90 in ye olde temp units) and 80% humidity.

A friend just turned me onto the FJ Tropicool glove. Works great here in Hawaii during our hot, humid summer. Also worked well in the rain the other day. I was even able to wash it the other day and it came out looking brand new. Give them a try, you’ll be happy.
