Are there FAKE Taylormade SIM Drivers out there? WONDERING IF I MAY HAVE ONE...

Purchased a NEW Sim Driver on Facebook Marketplace Golf Club Traders. It looked legit, minus some pretty poor paint lines and small imperfections in the finish, until i put it next to a couple of the demo drivers at my club. Now noticing A LOT of minor differences and wondering if it make be a knock off. i can post some comparison pics if needed, but mainly just curious if any fakes have been seen on the market yet. i can only find SIM MAX fakes.

There's been several threads on this if you look here on page 1 and 2.

Taylormade, due to COVID, had to haphazardly switch manufacturing facilities from overseas to something in Mexico - if I remember correctly (where Cally clubs are made, probably) - and the QC has been garbage.

There's some comparison pics on the other threads below yours about fake SIMS.

Are there fake SIMS? Maybe - but COVID probably slowed them down as well. Is yours fake? Hard to tell with no pics from you, but probably not and just bad QC from a new facility.

Has it been verified that they had to switch facilities? I haven't been actively looking for it, but I've yet to see one poor looking head that could be verified came directly from TM, most are from an ebay seller or a FB marketplace seller. When you continue to have questionable differences from non verifiable sources, the answer begins to become obvious to me. I have a hard time believing multiple small details can be so different simply between facilities, when most details come from what I believe to be CAD files or similar. Even the font on serial numbers being different is no excuse IMO.

I talked to TM customer service and they stated that there were no major changes in their production facilities recently... AND... that even if they did changes facilities all components still would be coming from the same/original component manufacturers. Since they don't track serial numbers on the customer/ selling side there was no way to authenticate via phone.

working through the issue with the guy i purchased from it sounds like he may be selling a lot of heads as he needs me to keep reminding him which model/ shaft/ loft combo i purchased... another red flag

Don't buy brand new golf equipment on Facebook marketplace. It's silly. Some guy just had a bunch of sim drivers for sale cheaper than retail? Obvious red flags from the start. Try to save a few bucks and it costs you far more.

he has since provided proof of authenticity via order confirmation from Taylormade. Possible they could still be fakes, sure, but I'm gonna give the benefit of the doubt with the new info. What concerns me now is that Taylormade has some noticeable quality control issues they need to discuss with their manufacturing facilities!!! i'm going to see if they will replace my head

The largest issue with confirming these as fakes is the 'face screws'. The fakes ALWAYS had painted on screws because it would be monumentally expensive for a faker driver to be manufactured with real face screws - even from a counter-fitters margins point of view. These have real screws in the face so the only real conclusion is bad QC
