I have never had or seen a hole in one...

I had not seen my first hole in one until last summer. I have played competitively for 15 years with over 100 rounds per year from ages 15 to 30 without witnessing a hole in one. Last summer I saw my first.

Also amazingly, last week I holed a wedge from 70 yards. Prior to this, the longest shot I had ever holed was 25 yards, which seems unlikely given the number of rounds I've played. Long way of me saying, I don't think your streak is all that unlikely.

I had my only hole in one the 2nd year I played back in 1985. I saw probably 6 of them over the next 12 years. I haven’t seen one since.

I saw saw several crazy ones too, and have lipped out several more of my own since the first one.

No problem - in 29 years you'll get one!!!!

Just kidding and hope it is sooner, lol. Honestly I never really thought much about it as a "thing" (easy to say now, haha) and I've said before if Barbara Eden (old TV reference) gave me three wishes, the first two would be to trade my holes in one for watching my dad and oldest daughter each get one, the third wish ..... watch an episode of "I Dream Of Jeannie" and you'll figure it out. ;-)

Back in the early 90’s I delivered food to Barbara Eden while she was working the Miss USA pageant. With Dick Clark I think? She was so stunning, even at that age I will never forget it.

Had 3 and seen another 1 although in saying that, I never saw 2 of mine going in due to the bottom of the pin being slightly hidden. The first one we were looking at the back of the green for it ?

I have seen 1 in 40+ years (not by me )...fellow comp in a club tourney made one ~15 years ago.

I do however, have 5 hole outs from 100+ yards - and saw 4/5...only 1 was a blind shot to the green. Got up there and didn't see the ball...I had hit it so well, and the pin was center of the green. I actually looked in the hole 1st - rather than typical of looking all around the green, then discovering it in the hole.

I've seen one and it was the ugliest shot I've ever seen that even ended up on the green, much less a hole in one.

Let me set the scene for you. I'm (7 HDCP) playing in a 4 some at my local club with my Dad (6 HDCP), A Nike rep that was also a member (Scratch), and Russ (18 HDCP) who is a great guy and super fun to play with. This Hole in one was accomplished by Russ, because of course it was. We are on the 16th par 3. Water runs from the left front of the hole around the left side to the back. A large Sandtrap runs down the right side of the green but there is a lot of fairway in front of the green. The green itself is massive. However today the hole is cut to the front playing about 168 yards. Russ is hitting last, and hits a worm burner straight down the middle. It starts to slow down about 20 yards in front of the green. Its slowing down rapidly but makes it to the green. Now it should be said I was 26 at the time and have excellent eyesight. Not true for anyone else in the group. The way the hole sets up there is a very slight rise at the fringe that makes it appear that the hole is right up against the fringe. The ball makes it over the lip, and seemingly disappears, but all three other golfers just think he barely made it to the green. The scratch golfer even makes a statement about "that's one way to get on the green" and Russ responds "Well that was lucky". I look at all three in disbelief, and finally state that I'm pretty sure that went in. I get a bunch of "are you sure?". Yes. We get up to the green and of course no ball can be seen on the green. Russ is starting to get excited. He finally makes the long walk to the hole and sure enough, the ball is sitting at the bottom of the cup.

Only hole in one I've ever seen and the guy topped it and rolled it into the hole.

I've played for nearly 40 years and have only personally witnessed one HIO. Never had one myself.

The one I witnessed was similar to Barnicle's above - a ridiculously bad shot by one of the worst golfers I have ever regularly played with. He mishit a low running cutter with a 3 wood on a hole that was 142 yards long. Bounced over a ditch, bounded up onto the green and rolled directly into the hole.

It was about that time that I stopped caring about holes-in-one. They are a fluke regardless of who hits it.

Been playing since the late 80s - never had one, never seen one.

Though, BOTH nearly happened when I played Oak Quarry the other week. Gorgeous #14; fella I was playing with took one hop after landing short, hit the pin and stopped about 6 inches from the cup. Then mine landed to the right, spun left down the slope and needed another couple feet of roll ... woulda be damn close.

Can't think of too many other holes I'd wanna have my first:

I've had two and had 3 that hit the pin or rolled an inch from the cup. The first HOI was to an uphill green so I did not get to see it. I was looking for my golf ball thinking it rolled over, but the greens keeper was there watching the whole thing and said "check the cup".

The second one I got to see. One bounce about a foot from the hole and hopped right in.

I can't believe how few guys have seen

Just quickly off the top of my head

I've seen my lone ace (40 years of golf), my twin has 2 and I saw them both, my buddy Phil has 5 and I saw two of them, that's 5

I've seen one in my group in a member guest by a good guy named Scott, was not the car hole though

My old pro where I grew up .. saw him make 2 as a kid (he was a stick that had a full ride to Florida State as a kid)

I've seen 3 different university golf teammates make aces ... 2 of them in my group and one in group in front of me while I was on the tee. One clown called his on the tee and one of the other guys was a cold skull that hit half way up the pin at warp speed

Up to 11

I've seen 2 in big money fall scrambles by opponents, so 13

A couple I was playing with at my home course. Lady aces the 12th and won't stop talking about my eagle on 10 (a 2 on a par 4) … so quickly that is 14

Wait, one more for my Dad's buddy Dick … 15. Holy crap was he burning thru the drink tickets after the round. It was 3 drinks for everyone. He was mid 60's at the time, it was his first and he'd be golfing since he was 8.

To be fair I play a lot of golf

One of the guys in the group even wrote his name and number down on my scorecard if anybody didn't believe me lol "i don't f'ing care if its 2am, they can call me to confirm" glad someone saw it.

I have been golfing since 1966 and I have had two but did not see either one go in the hole. I have seen one by a group in front and two by friends. The last one was a 3 wood by my friend off the back of the trap on a 190 yard par three that rolled up towards the hole and we could see the ball very near the hole. I said that it was really close and then as we were walking up to the hole I noticed that that the ball had disappeared! The fellow who got the hole in one did not believe it until he pulled it out of the hole.

I may have seen some others that I can't recall at the moment LOL...
