Callaway xr steelhead irons vs ping g700 irons ???

Looking to upgrade my irons currently playing Wilson d100’s and love em but I know their getting old and could maybe benefit from some newer technology and I found a good deal on two different sets Ping g700 and callaway steelhead xr! I currently shoot in the 80’s consistently and driver swing speed is around 92 mph and I’m a sweeper! Which of these clubs will suit me best! I wish I could test them but 1) im a lefty and nearest place to test clubs is over a hr away! Thanks for the help

The G700 is much more like the D100, a large iron with a lot of offset. The Steelhead XR is smaller.

You'll like either. I preferred the G700 over the XR. Couple that with Ping resale I'd go G700.

Unless you have to ride 100 miles through mountains on horseback, why not make an appointment to test out some clubs? You might be playing the chosen irons for several years.

Offset is the big difference between your choices. Both sets are rocket launchers. I gamed steelhead xr for a season and they are the more classic looking and less offset than the pings. Hope that helps.

I had the steelhead xrs.. not bad... not great... nice profile for a gi iron.. not very offset or bulky.. just thought the feel was kinda harsh... the steelhead xr pros is where its at.. feels forged.. goes long.. very forgiving... not truly a pro iron very much a gi iron.. downside is just that they are black which looks great when you first buy them but start to scratch.. now obviously these released a while ago so its going to be difficult to find a set in great shape... good yeah.
