2018 X-Forged

Hey all,

Been kicking around the idea of picking up a set of Callaway X-Forged (likely with PX 6.0 shafts... play them in my current irons). I've played Titleist 690 CB and AP2 in the past... playing Ping i500 right now and while I like them in the longer clubs, the mid and short irons just don't do it for me. Too hard to control distance, knock them down, etc. For whatever reason, the X-Forged catch my eye more than the Titleist CB, which was my obvious first choice. Any thoughts on how these stack up against other forged CB clubs out there?

I have a 7 iron in transit to try .. I really like the UT version of these as long and mid irons .. I have the 27 and 30

I love the X-forged. I actually played the 2009 version in the past. Had been playing 716 TMBs but was launching the short irons too high and couldn't flight them low. For about the last 6 months I have used the Forged UT in 21*, 24*, 27*, and 30* then X-forged 2018 in 7-PW and it's been great. I use the A wedge from the Apex MB and love that, too, My buddy plays 716 CBs and he hits my x-forged 7-8 irons about a club longer than his but I think the lofts are a little stronger (and different shafts).

Almost purchased a set in 2018. Really liked them. Gamed 2007 version of X Forged for a couple years back in the day. I like the "sharp angles" of the X Forged line, the 2018 is really stunning with that satin finish. Feel is soft, but not as soft as MP-18 SC. Far softer than MP-18 MMC or 718 AP2 or 2016 Apex Pro. Average to slightly above average forgiveness for a non-multi material forged cavity back. If you have the game, they would be winners. I ended up going 718 AP2 for the added forgiveness, but the 2018 X Forged is better looking and better feeling IMO.

I like them so much I have a backup set. Primary set has Modus 120S, backups have PX rifle 6.0s.

You will love them. So smooth, very nice feel.

Incredible irons that got overshadowed by the release of the apex pro's. I liked the x forged way better than the apex pro's. Feel fantastic, nice and crisp. Can feel the ball stick to the face at impact, which I love. Only reason they did not end up in the bag is because of the bridgestones I'm currently gaming had exact same numbers but felt a little more dense at impact.

Was able to order a mint set from 2nd Swing... excited for their arrival!

X-Forged are really great clubs, I too played the 2007 and 2009 versions, I have a set of TA prototypes that I truly love, I am all Ping now, but I do have a full Callaway bag as well, I take it out once in a while and still perform well, you will enjoy them, good luck...

Quick update from me.
Have gotten to play a few rounds and these are fantastic irons. Consistent distances, easy to control trajectory and shape, and just good looking as well.

I love everything about them except for the shape of the PW. To me its just so much more square than the rest of the set. If I were to ever game them again it would have to be with a non-set wedge. Other than that they are great. Soft, forgiving, accurate.
