While not the 2.0, I'll be testing the RipX and AV White 75TX head to head the first week of next month. When I made the switch to the AV, it was because my best customer hit my driver with the RipX and bombed it... needless to say, it stayed in his bag and I was on the shaft hunt. I'll be visiting him again in a couple weeks and will get on a launch monitor with both. Visually, I expect numbers to be relatively similar. Feel is noticeably different, but I'll withhold judgement until hitting them at the same time.
With the RIPX I got the 95X for my 3wood at 42" and it's amazing in it. I can't believe more people aren't playing this shaft especially when you can find them for under $250. Look forward to seeing how you like the 2.0
I’m currently testing the Ripx 65tx (.75 tip) vs HZRDUS Smoke Green 70 6.5tx (1” tip) vs Ventus Black 6x (untipped)
hit the ripx and smoke for the first time last night. Ventus has been my game. Ventus black is very straight. Fairway finder for sure. I’m looking for something to bring the launch angle and spin down a bit so I don’t have to open the face on my SIM driver.
initial testing last night was very good with both shafts. I preferred the feel of the smoke quite a bit more though.
screenshots below. Driver is Smoke Green. Fairway (still a driver, just named fairway in the foresight app) is RIPx. Will continue testing but I think both will work better for me than the Ventus Black.
I bought a driver shaft of ripx for $150 on the forum... haven’t really tested it.

The 3 wood spin with the RIPX is insane lol Thanks for posting.
@Myherobobhope what are you waiting for lol? That's a killer deal. I find the RIPX needs little tipping (my driver is tipped 1/2" (my SS is 116-118 for reference)) but it's got a lot of feel to it which the original did not. Spin is LOW so it pairs perfect with more lofted driver.
Sorry just edited my post. The RipX is in a driver. Both shafts are being tested in my SIM 8* driver. It's just named Fairway on the foresight app I used.
I was gonna say haha. Glad to hear others are seeing the same thing i am with the RIPX.
Above is the Rip-X dedicated thread if you'd like to have a discussion about shafts not in this testing. Thanks.
Apologies. Didn't mean to hijack! Thanks for posing
I just started a separate thread no worries.
No worries. You're just going to find a lot more info in the dedicated thread.
Has there been pics posted of the white 2.0?
Not that I can find - wondering how it distinguishes as well.
No RIP-X included? Bummer... I was interested in what numbers guys in 100-106mph would get.
Yes. Check our sponsor area for products and you'll often find rare and unique things.
We did an entire thread dedicated to Rip-X a year ago. It's a lower priced product so we don't generally include shafts under $350 in their tests or it would take so long and include so many products that it would never actually happen. There has to be a cut off.
Is that high spin player data still coming
Yes as soon as I have time. It's been a tremendous week for sales and fittings so I have been quite tied up. As soon as I have a window of down time, I intent to post it.
Rolled the dice and ordered the Tensei 2.0 from Toll. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Ventus Black I’ve been playing.
what tipping and ss did you get it @StillCantPutt I jus ordered mine 65tx tipped an inch coming from a ventus black 6x tipped 3/4”
I think you guys are going to impressed with 2.0. The flight is strong and flat, and this particular shaft, paired with a SIM driver in particular is a weapon. I'm going to be doing a write up series on "winning combos" and this will most likely be the first one.
It's a sign of your enduring popularity, JT. 😁
Wanted to add my thanks for everything you're doing with this thread, and your other efforts. Simply awesome, and greatly appreciated. <polite golf applause>
Is the 2.0 a very limited thing that they made for certain players that want a little less spin/launch and won't be available at any fitting shops? Really only made for tour guys with a few select outfits getting some to sell?
Haha. Thank you sir. As I said before, as long as content creation is viable to my boss, expect to see regular pieces here. So far we did the shaft test and the driver test this year, but I'd like to do more of these things. I enjoy the community interaction and being involved in the discussion with real golfers, getting feedback, hearing stories about certain set ups, etc. I really enjoy it, and I'm glad you guys do too.
I don't want to speculate too much on things I don't really know. All I know is, right now it's a Tour only shaft. There are only a small handful in existence and we won't see any more until later in August. I suppose it will be that way for a time, and maybe it will find its way to market in some form later on. I would expect that if it gets glowing reviews here and players love it, that has a stronger chance of happening. Some OEM will want to capitalize on the name and do a version of it or dealers will desire to carry it as is, and then the floodgates open.
Gotcha. I wasn't sure if it was like the Pro Orange and they did a V1, 2, and 3 and then ultimately decided on 3 as retail offering.
Well there's already a retail version. What I'm most curious about is, will there be an AV Orange 2.0 TX. That would be sweet.
Yeah i was thinking the same thing.
hopefully my shafts come in today -- got a practice round for the pub links this afternoon -- would LOVE to get them on the range before we play.
