2020 Chrome Soft

I know there is threads on this ball, anyway I am playing this now. I really like it...just some thoughts from those who are playing it or have played it

I started playing it about three weeks ago and it is a really, really good ball for me. I have gained about five yards in driver distance, it flies very straight and holds very firm greens for me.

I was never a Chrome Soft fan, but I think Callaway really did fix their quality control problems with the 2020 ball. I started playing it because my Titleist 3/4 deal still hasn't arrived yet.

My stats are mid 90s driver swing speed and 4.8 index.

So you know there’s threads on the ball and they do have some feedback but because you are playing it you chose to start another thread for feedback instead of reading the feedback in those threads and contributing there?

I never have an issue/problem with someone starting a fresh thread on the same topic - especially when 4 months have elapsed since the original post and two months since the last comment.

But obviously some people who have over 2800 posts since 2016 (that's at least two a day by my count) don't have much substance to add other than to criticize others on what is an open forum for discussions.

I came on specifically to read feedback on the 2020 Chrome Soft, so hopefully this thread doesn't get derailed.

I'll say it, I'm just not a Callaway fan. They make good products but something about the company rubs me the wrong way. That said, last year I found a 2018 Chrome Soft and, never having used a Callaway ball before, trialled it for 9 holes. I was actually amazed at how good it was.

The Srixon Z Star tends to be my go-to ball and I've extensively tested the B'Stone Tour B X as well, but I'm seriously considering switching to the Callaway. I've not yet tried the 2020 version so would be interested to hear people's thoughts on its performance.

I'm stuck with Callaway for the foreseeable future. The triple track on the putter and ball have really made a difference in my putting. That being said, I'm loving the Chromesoft. Played the CS X last year and the 2020 Chromesoft fits my game much better.

I found a 2020 CS in a bush today in great condition and played it for the last 2 holes of my 9. Crushed a nice drive down the middle and followed with a GIR. Second hole didnt go so well, but the ball seems promising.

I never thought the previous models stood our much but I liked the feel of the 2020 off my clubs.

I'm going to cash in some cally rewards points and grab a few dozen of these.

I gamed the 2018 ChromeSoft for a full season and loved it.

The new ball is completely different, much closer to a proper "tour" ball. Quite firm. Lots of spin.

For me I prefer a softer feel and less spin which leads to a straigher ball flight. Workability less of a priority for me.
