What is your highest lofted wedge?

I carry a 60 but sometimes wonder why. Too frequently I get the shot that seems to roll up the clubface & come up short. Thinking about going with 58 as my highest lofted wedge, when I've played it before I don't recall having this issue & I think the 58 was more versatile for me. My SW is 54 so a 58 would fit with the rest of my wedges.

What about you? Are there really that many shots you can hit with a 60 that you would struggle to hit with 58? Does 2 degrees make that much of a difference? Thanks...

My highest is 58, I I have no issues just adding more loft if I need too but rarely does this happen. Im good from 105 and in with this club.

I go back and forth between 60 and 58. 58 is plenty but I’m a little better at hitting a little checker with the 60. 58 always jumps just a little more than I’m expecting and I chip it 10 ft by.

I don't hit it that far, but I am more comfortable taking a fuller swing up to about 90 yards with 58. I'm not comfortable taking a longer swing with the 60, seldom use it for more than about a 30-40 yard pitch which limits my options between 50-100 yards. I think I'm talking myself into the change!

I use a 58 and 60 depending on where I'm going. But if I have to pick a favorite it would be the 60. I especially use that at certain course near be because for whatever reasons, elevated greens seem to be the norm. Like one course did it so they all did. I don't know if it is a drainage thing or something, but bump and runs aren't always possible when you are short sided and the green is 5 feet above you.

64 degree. Had to buy it because otherwise I could not keep chips on my club's tabletop greens. It is a very annoying club because on hole or two Ill hit a shot that comes off fantastically and wouldn't have been capable of with another club, on another hole or two I'll have a duff or skull that makes me what to snap the club over my knee. Describes my entire short game right now though, to be fair.

56 degrees usually sometime the 59 gets a round or two

64* RTX4. I only use it if I’m short sided. I’ve found the key to using it is to be aggressive through the ball. I only use it 1 or 2 times in a round.

60* couldn't imagine not having it in the bag to be honest, 54 is next and I use it for any chips I want to run like a putt. Will take full shots with the 60 out to about 75 yards or so. Use it in every greenside bunker, lot of up and downs made possible by this club..... maybe if my approach play was better I wouldn't be as good with the LW haha

58 for me..

I like 58. Can open it up if needed and 60 seems to be to unpredictable for me. Also creates a little tighter gapping between my wedges.

Same here. I have a 54 and 58 only. I manipulate the face a lot with the 58 when I'm needing to throw it high or hit out of the bunker. Just switched irons from 3-pw to 4-pw so I may pick up a 5 wood or 50 degree wedge. Still thinking about it.

Depends a lot on your PW loft. Mine is pretty low at 44. So I go 48 (50 deg bent down), 53 (54 bent down), and 58 in my wedges. But I love 4-PW - I think that's the way to go. 3 hybrid is a nice club if you want a little more versatility than the 5 wood - goes just as far for me.

58.....had a 60 4 years ago & just had no consistency with it. Also, seem to have more versatility with the 58.

I have always carried a 60 and used it mainly around the greens. In the last few months I have been using my 56 with better results. I like landing the ball a little shorter and getting it rolling. Seems to work out better at the course I play the most.

I carry 4 wedges. 60* is the highest for me.

Mine is 46 degrees. My next wedge is 54 bent to 53. Right now I carry a 2 iron Mizuno mp19 hi fki and m2 3 wood. I'll check out some hybrids though.

I’m in the 64* club. Best club in my bag. I can be more aggressive going into greens because I have no fear of being short-sided. As a short hitter, I live and die by my short game and the 64* is a big part of that.

58 for me. Reading this thread has me wondering if I should consider a 60+ degree

Highest loft I have is a 54. I just open it up when I need more loft.

59 is my highest. I typically just use it greenside and knockdown 55 for most approach shots.

Last season: 60*/10 MD-PM wedge.

Since November: 58*/8 C-grind MD4 wedge. (60* too unstable on more than half swing)

On PGA Tour: from a report a couple of years ago, 50% of PGA Tour players used 58* as their highest-lofted wedge.

Settled on 58* a long time ago.

Anything more is asking for trouble.

I almost never hit a full shot with it.

I use 4 wedges with 60 being the highest loft.

64 as part of a 46 pitching wedge, 52, and 58 wedge make-up. It would be the first club to go if I added a fairway wood or something. I use it from sand and when I'm short-sided but I can do just about everything through manipulating the 58. The only exception is if I have managed to stop my ball on a fluffy hill-side a few metres from the green with only a couple of metres between the fringe and the hole. It doesn't happen often but it does happen - I have to open the 58 up a lot more and risk blading it but the 64 glides right under.

My highest is a 57, 58 or 60.

I don't see the difference between a 58 and 60 in reducing horrible shots. I think the bad shot results from a bad decision or bad execution, not the 2 degrees difference that some people claim. But mental confidence is huge so maybe they see a difference.

I do notice a difference in consistency (strike, trajectory, spin) when going down to something in the 52-54 range. Obviously you cannot pull off some shots but the strike itself seems to be more reliable.

Just switched from a 58 to 60 and been feeling confident with the extra loft

58 degree PM grind. Easiest club in the world to open up and play at whatever delivered lift you want.
