New Bronco

The 4 door looks pretty cool, but it has like shockingly minimal space for anything lol. Maybe Im looking at the angles wrong of they are deceiving but it makes the Wrangler's trunk look gigantic.

The BSport is a boxed up Escape with fixed roof and 1.5EB or 2.0EB engines. It's a soccer mom mall crawler for snow and a maintained dirt road.

The Bronco comes with either the 2.3EB or 2.7EB (meaning much more power than the BSport). More suited for real offroad with beefed up components. I'm not sure if they're the same chassis (BSport vs Bronco).

Ford dropped the ball on this. It looks like a Jeep JL and FJ cruiser had a baby then decided to abandon it because it was so ugly. Not to mention they also decided to go with IFS suspension so it won't ever be able to hang with the Wrangler on a hard trail. I do like that they offer 35s and beadlocks from the factory though. Wish Jeep had an option like that but I guess they know what we plan to do with their vehicles. Now the old bronco? I'd take one of those in a heartbeat. I also love that Jeep FINALLY dropped a teaser for the Hemi JL the same day lol too bad people have been doing hemi swaps for years.

There's no way Ford was gonna please everyone.... But, I'd guess 90%+ of Jeeps never see off-road and probably of the few that do, 90%+ don't see a trail that IFS can't handle.

So they designed something that has luxury features, can take doors off, and check a bit of a nostalgia box for folks. It's smart to make the big tires a premium feature since it means more money in their pockets and the Ford dealers don't have to worry about learning how to add aftermarket stuff like Jeep dealers do.

I will definitely go test drive one for fun. I miss my Jeep terribly.

It looks like there are some pretty hardcore options available from the factory....while also offering the day to day driving capabilities that most people want (like auto AWD) in others.

I bought a Rav4 TRD last year. It's all i need as most of my "offroading" is snow trails in the woods near my house. But i love trucks like this

Completely agree. I saw one of these new 4-doors parked next to a Wrangler and they were basically the same size. They are way too small and too pretty. The classic Broncos looked strong and and brutish and made you believe you could conquer whatever came at you. The new Bronco looks cute and svelte and makes you believe you might be able to go over a speed bump without much jostling.

I like it. It’s not the original, but nothing will ever be that again in this day and age. Once you can accept that, it’s a good looking vehicle. As long as it can live up to the capabilities it should, it’ll be a hot ticket item. If they make it on a FWD soccer mom suv platform, hopefully it will die a quick death.

Yeah, I don't think that was the "old bronco" they based the design on. It's more like what James the Hogan Fan posted. Not only that, the pic you posted wasn't OEM.

Good catch. Most people have no idea what my username is. I've actually moved on to an M2 that I love.

The 2 door model looks nicer than the 4 door in my opinion. Tons of hype around the Bronco. Hopefully Ford sells a lot of them. People always say they will buy the latest and greatest when it arrives but only time will tell. Will people actually put the cash down for a Bronco over the 'more practical' Explorer? Maybe.

One of my football buddies had an early 80s Bronco. A cooler of beer and ice fit perfectly just behind the console. I did see one of the new ones and also thought "FJ", which is ok. I like the FJ too. 

 

Funny story...There's a mid-80s white Bronco here in town parked near my old office and the license plate says, "NOT OJ"...haha...
