Golf Pride quality/customer service

Edit after a while but I wish to be fair- a forum member here with golf pride reached out to me and we had a great discussion about grips and quality and everything.  Situation completely handled! It's all about whom you talk to. I sent this grip off to golf pride and they're investigating its authenticity. 

I'd take them back to where I bought them from.

Impractical. Probably end up cutting the grips off, mailing them off, waiting for replacements? Meh. Would rather play a round or two and buy Lamkin next time. I of course did not buy these in a brick and mortar store. I've also bought grips from several places lately. I don't know which box these came out of.

Any chance they're not the real deal? I read a bunch of posts, here and on other forums, about counterfeit grips from sellers on EBay.

Might just be their standard protocol as I don't believe Golf Pride is a direct retailer (please, correct me if I'm wrong).

About ten years ago, I was sent 58R instead of 60R grips. I contacted the retailer and they exchanged them. Yeah, it sucked waiting an extra week or so for transit and all that, but they made right.

Pro Tip - Don't strip the old grips until you have the (correct) new ones in hand. Learned that lesson the hard way.

That's life buying on the internet.

I only buy online if I can save 20% or so. Even then only from vendors I bought from before.

Next time support your local shop and you'll likely get good service.

Probably. Dead give away that fake grips have is their smell. It is more pungent and overpowering than the real deal ones.

Golf Pride does sell direct to consumer on their website.

If you didn’t buy them from Golf Pride directly they are not responsible. No way would that make me change my mind about Golf Pride.

How is Golf Pride not standing behind their product? You bought them from someone. Golf Pride replied for you to take them back for an exchange/refund from the place you bought them from. I don't see that as an unusual request. That would seem like the easiest solution to me. I would think in either case dealing with the seller or Golf Pride that you would have to send the bad grips back first with proof of purchase for either place to make things right. Your second post states " impractical" for doing that and you also state you don't know where you got them from. So you bad mouth Golf Pride for what? Expecting them to just send you out replacement grips just because you say the grips are bad with no proof from where you bought them and no proof they are not knock offs. I for one would have complained to the seller as soon as I received them and I certainly wouldn't have had them put on until the issue was resovled. Write it off for buying on the internet and not handling it right from the beginning. Don't blame Golf Pride.

This right here. You had an issue, Golf Pride told you how to resolve it. How is that not standing behind their products with no questions asked?

I don't get the culture of running to the internet to complain about things that, in reality, are being handled quite well by the company.

It's because he heard the stories from other people where they have a cracked driver and TM/Callaway sends a new model, no questions asked. It makes you think that if a company has good customer service, that it's subpar, even if it's not. He wanted them to send him free grips since he bought fakes on ebay...haha

If Golf Pride would of taken them back and they were fake, they would confiscate them and the buyer wouldn’t be able to get a dime from them. Patent laws and product infringements are tough. This guy isn’t getting any love out here.

Why did you put them on your clubs if they didn't look right? I'd have tried to get a refund as soon as I saw them.

If I buy grips online, it’s from a reputable reseller. There are far too many counterfeits on the Bay for you to roll the dice on some as relatively inexpensive as grips with no one to stand behind them.

There are a lot of fake golf Pride grips out there. I’m sure that’s why they tell you to return them wherever you got them. If you got them somewhere reputable then it shouldn’t be an issue.

First, why did you install them? Second, do you really expect golf pride to replace some possible counterfeit grips?

Did you get them off eBay? I wouldn’t trust eBay for grips and that’s coming from someone who loves finding good eBay deals. Not to be an ass, but if you bought grips from somewhere that you can’t return them to, and already installed them,, there isn’t much of an argument to make against Golf Pride.

A legit retailer would be able to accept a return and address a potential supplier quality issue with golf pride directly. A manufacturer can certainly stand behind their product while not dealing directly with the customer.

They look counterfeit or defective.

I'll echo the counterfeit concerns stated above. LOTS of that out there and in no way would I expect Golf Pride to blindly stand behind a product without proof of a legitimate original seller.

Show a picture of the end cap. The fake one of these have the crappy end cap.

the fake MCC grips are just like the real thing and are like 2.50 a grip. Easy to get tricked if you buy on eBay. Just go right to the source at that point, China
