Best Mid-Round Snack

Simple question: best snack to have during a round.

Thinking of the things you'd find on the cart or at the 1/2way house. Excluding sandwiches, hotdogs, etc. Those are meals.

Our course has Ritz Crackers with Port Wine Cheese and Peanut butter at the "long barn" which you pass through 3 times durring a round.

Granola bar was as close as the choices came. I prefer one of these:

A Clifff bar (usually oatmeal-raisin or blueberry). Gives enough energy to get through the back nine, and it travels well: doesn't crumble in the wrapper or melt stuff all over your hands. (and, I can't handle chocolate in 90*F heat).Trail mix containing mainly nuts and dried fruit and crunchies (no chocolate please!). I can have a couple of bites here and there. I prefer this if I have a 10 AM tee time and will tee off well after breakfast and play through normal lunch time.The last thing I need on a 100+ heat-index day is to start feeling weak on the 15th hole.

Sometimes on a 10 Am teeoff day, I'll have a protein drink between range warm-up and my tee off.

I prefer to pack in decent snacks rather than risk the Snickers vs. Milky Way choice at the turn.

Silliest snack offer I got was at a scramble. A local restaurant was giving out sauced-up BBQ ribs on one of the tee boxes. I begged off, didn't need the hickory sauce grip aid.

All joking aside, I've taken to carrying a peeled, sectioned grapefruit or orange. I make it a habit to eat a section or two about every third tee box. It keeps me from hitting a low point without realizing it. The citrus also has liquid, which helps my hydration a bit. Since I've started doing that, my back nine performance has improved markedly.

Two points:

I'd like to lobby for hotdogs being reconsidered as a snack. It takes me more bites to finish a bag of chips than a hot dog.I'd like to combine items 1 and 2 on your list of choices - those cheese flavored cracker sandwiches with peanut butter in the middle are my go-to.

Peanut butter crackers..2 packs. Very low sugar. Some carbs, good amount of fat.

Combine them with a cold beer!

I know you said no sandwiches but my answer is sandwich. I usually bring 2 sandwiches either some variation of PB&J, PB w/honey & banana, PB&Hazelnut Spread or Cold Cuts. Cut them in half and snack on those throughout the round, sometimes eat them early, sometimes they last but way better than chips or crackers. Can't drop 300 yards bomb on crackers.

I gotta be honest, I’m unbelievably surprised snickers hasn’t run away with this. I thought this was a nonsense poll given how obvious that was in my head. This is eye opening.

Or maybe everyone else is doing what I did and mis-click on the options and just not hit snickers. That would make more sense.

A snickers bar in the Phoenix heat just becomes hot chocolate with peanuts, and everyone knows hot chocolate should come with marshmallows !

I chose peanuts because they are filling and go well with Powerade or Beer.

do you just throw them in your bag frozen? What’s the procedure here?

Our course in 9 holes with 18 tees, so the "Halfway House" is actually the Clubhouse. So not entirely sure why you'd bother with a snack or some of the other various rabbit foods you've selected, when you can have a Bacon and Egg Sandwich and a pint of Carling.

If it's a hot day, you can throw it in the bag frozen and it will thaw in 60-90 minutes.

If it's a cool day, throw it in the refrigerator the night before.

Other - Beef jerky. But I also like to keep some carbs in the bag so I have a Clif Bar or two in there. I wouldn't eat a candy bar on course since I'm trying to avoid spiking blood sugar too high at any point.
