Question about LDP TP Red vs. LDP TP Black

Both of these balls are really decent. I also like the pricing of them but I'm wondering which one has higher greenside spin?

To be honest I can not tell a smidge of difference in driver distance (Can any of you?)

So which is softer and has higher wedge spin? Any thoughts? (I have a lot of trouble telling the difference between these balls). I'm thinking the Red is softer?

the red is softer and spins less. I could really notice the reduced spin off the driver as it gave me a lower and more boring flight, reminding me of the bridgestone balls. It checks up decently but is probably near the low end of the "premium ball greenside spin" spectrum. The tp black to me is like a combination of the prov1 and the b330, spinny ball with a bit of firmness to it.

Okay that's what I had been leaning towards. I get extremely similar driver results with both, but the black seemed a little more harsh for short game reasons. I tried a box of both and thought the Red might be more for me, but the V1x still stops on a dime for me.

I have been playing the black for a few weeks now with really good results. The only thing I don't like is the feel off the putter. I bought a dozen Red's yesterday and I am planning on trying them this weekend. I am worried about the lower spin and the lower ball flight.

I have putted with the red on my carpet and it does feel much better. I am hopeful that the spin is not that much lower.

I play both TP Reds and Blacks in a round. Around the Green the Blacks Hit and Spin back 2-3 feet for me while the Reds Hit and release 1 to 4 feet after the divot from full shots in. Chipping : Blacks will hit and check up quick while the Reds check and release more. Against the wind is where the Red Shines for me. The ball seems to stay low and bore through the wind like crazy. I am hitting the ball almost as far against the wind as I am with it with Reds. The Black just gets up and sails the wind freeway while gets up and is a little more effected by cross winds (due to the height in my opinion) . I hope this makes sense to everybody, It's lunch time and I need to get back to my food.

This is exactly my 'problem' with the ball. I like the driving and feel of the Red over the Black. I went through a dozen of each and that was my result. I think I found a solution though... The LDP's out drive the ProV1x for me, but the ProV1x has feel and spin as well as respectable driving results. I don't have a high swing speed... just over 100MPH.

The Callaway iX just put a huge impression on me. The greenside spin is still less to me than the ProV1x, but it's very good, soft, and I was surprised how good it was in the wind and driving. I'm not a really big Callaway fan, but I begrudgingly admit this ball does a lot of things, very well.

Oddly enough it (Cally iX) almost plays like an NXT Tour, but I don't know if the NXT would even fair as well driving wise. Guess I'll have to try.... just my two cents.
