rife cayman vs ping redwood zb

Besides actually owning a Cayman, The differences are going to be all in the face of the putter. They are both made out of 303 Stainless Steel. The Cayman is going to react a little better off the face for a smoother more consistant roll. The Ping is nice but I just felt that the ball skips a little more than it needs too. I know I made the right choice. GO WITH THE CAYMAN!!

Have you hit the Rife Aussie? I'm thinking of getting the Aussie in stainless steel. I already have the 2 bar blade and I love it, but I've always loved the anser-like putters. And the rife's are freakin awesome.

Although the designs are similar, they are going to feel quite a bit different. The roll grooves on the Rifes create a feel that's very unique, even among grooved putters.

The IBF Aussie is gorgeous, as is the Cayman. But I think the ZB Redwood is a knockout too.

If your local golf shop doesn't have the exact model you want, but carries some Redwoods and some Rife's, at least hit a pair of similar shapes side by side to get an idea for the feel differences.

I have a Rife Black Aussie and have tried a Ping ZB and as far as I'm concerned the feel is night and day. :cheesy:

I'm coming from an Odyssey Black 2 (don't know why I sold it) and I grabbed the Rife thinking the grooves would be a bonus and the shape is very similar.Problem was I forgot about the feel which was terrible compared to the Black and I'm not sure why but I had trouble getting the ball to the hole with the Aussie,maybe the lack of loft?.

Anyway while practicing at my club I grabbed a ZB from the proshop and WOH :cheesy: where have you been all my life?,putts started dropping,lags were easier and the feel at impact was pure.

Now I'm not bashing Rife but to me the feel of their putters at impact (and Yes for that matter) just does not do it for me,given time I might have gotten used to it but when I'm only playing once a week time is not a luxury I have,just got to find a ZB now. :jester:

The ZB feels clanky to me when the ball comes off the face. The rifes have always felt good to me and put a good roll on the ball, I would go with the cayman.

I don't own either one for what its worth.

Thank you everyone for the help is think im going to go with the cayman. But I do think it will take some getting used to the way the ball comes off the face.

I love the Cayman. I also have a LTD Aussie and it is very solid. The biggest thing I can say is I'm now making more putts with the Cayman.

But besides the roll grooves and the feel that everyone has mentioned I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the ZB has more offset then the Cayman. So make sure you get the one that sets up better for you.

I know this is an old topic, but I was also looking into these 2 putters so I just wanted 2 bump it up.
