Is the Tour i a High spinning ball?

is it like the hx tour 56 or in between the 56 and the ix?
I am playing tomorrow in some matches and have been using the TP red, but wanted a ball with a little more lift on it as it has been downpouring here all day. I just didn't like the TP black ball much.

I liked the tour ix but just did not get enough short game spin.

The hx tour 56 of last year spun way too much for me.

So the question is does it perform like the 56 or in between the ix and the 56?

Which ball, based on your experience, is it most similar to? NOB? v1x? How different is it to the TP LDP Red?

I found that the Tour i has medium spin off of the driver (which is good) but LOTS OF SPIN for greenside work.

I'm talking about chipping it hot & low, carrying it halfway to the hole and having it hop twice, check and then roll out a couple of feet.

I get lots of comments like "get down, bite, oooohhh, nice chip!" :)

Short irons come in low and "hop & stop" with a lot of bite (but they don't back up which I like).

I will sometimes play the TM LDP Red into the wind and the Tour i downwind or when I know I'd better have a top performing ball around a tricky green.

YMMV.

The 56 spins way more than the tour i. The I only spins 10 percent more on full iron shots, marginally on driver and more bite on short chips that hold the green closer to landing spot thanthe ix. This ball does not spinn too much at all, that was one thing cally made sure not to do. It spins way less than the platinum

My two cents:

I started the year with the Red LDP coming from the V1x, I spent a lot of time testing new balls. I was looking for a premium ball that was soft off the driver and putter, as well as controllable spin off my short irons, oh yeah, I didn't want to lose any length off the tee.

After trying Tour ix, Red LDP, Black LDP, B330, B330S, NOB, NOP and who knows what else, I found the Red LDP to be leaps and bounds better for MY game! It was soft, long, very predictable around the greens and most of all LOW SPIN off my short irons and wedges. I spin the ball a lot and don't have the skill to control it. I can't count the times I have back the V1x off the green into the rough or better yet, hit pin high only to still have a 20 footer back to the pin. The Red LDP fixed all of that, yet there was one problem, I couldn't spin it enough off wedges and on chips to go straight at tuff pins, the ball always hit and rolled out. My Club has small, fast ungilating greens, so the "check spin" was something I really missed, but sacrificed because it was better for me than the V1x.

The Tour ix has fixed all of that! Long, soft, and low spin off the short irons... but here's the kicker, this thing SPINS with full wedge shots and the low "check" wedge chip! It fixed the only issue I had with the Red LDP, and the Tour i fixed it well!

I never played the Tour 56, but I can tell you the Tour i spins when it should, and doesn't when it shouldn't.

Quick note, I have found on very wet greens it is a bit tuff to control the Tour i. I haven't tried it yet, but I think my solution will be to play the Tour ix on super wet days, but that remains to be seen.
