I couldn't find anywhere to introduce myself, so I put it here.
Hi.

New to the forum, and new to golf. I've been playing for less than a month, so have lots to learn.

I'm married, 39, and live in Northern England.

There seem to be very few female golfers in my part of the world, and most of the ones there are seem to be retired. Hopefully I'll find a few ladies nearer my own age group here who I can exchange ideas and thoughts with.

Hi, In_the_bunker. I am also new here. I have played just over 2 years and I am also looking for ladies to discuss golf with. I live in an area where almost all the female golfers are also retired. (My husband and I found a couple out age at our cub and played with them in a tournament today. It was really fun).

What kind of clubs did you get to start out with?

I am 37 and also married. I have 2 girls, age 10 and 8.

If you're looking for women locally to play with, see if there's an EWGA chapter near you.

That's what I did when I started playing again three years ago (I'd played as a kid/teen).

I met some great women golfers, found a couple of leagues to play in, and even got to play in my first amateur tournament :o

Highly recommended!

Hi All...I'm new here today & just browsing around. When I hear a man say "I wish my wife played golf", I have to tell them my husband's favorite comment......."Be very careful what you wish for". I started playing 13 yrs ago & my husband was very supportive. But soon he found out that he'd created a monster. I play more than him now & can beat him on just about any day. That could be the reason he doesn't play as much as he used to, ya think?

Cheers on that one! :drinks: When I got a job at a private country club as the buyer he about flipped his wig. "How the hell did you get your dream job and I'm still plugging away at Microsoft...? Aaaarrrgggh!!!!" Yeah. And now I can play anytime I want on one of the hardest courses in the state. He's better about it now, but it was tough at the beginning because he was the one that introduced me to the game 5 years ago. Now I'm a better ball striker than him. But the face still remains that his friends still thinks it's cool that he has a wife that plays. He does NOT get grief from me about wanting to spend the day on the course. If anything, I'm always encouraging him to go out and play. He works like a dog for MS.

Well, I'm not too sure how "sexy" it is, but playing golf (& skiing too) gives us lots of destimations for great vacations where we'll both be happy. And we also have met some really good life-long friends through golf. We don't really play all that much golf with each other. My hubby has his friends to play with, & I have mine. On Sundays though at our club, it's commonplace to play couples golf, then have lunch or dinner afterwards. Has your wife ever even "thought" about playing golf?

Hi, I am also kind of new to the game. I played on and off (due to work schedule) when I lived in Northern California for 5 years. Now we have moved to Pinehurst, North Carolina (golf country) and started playing twice a week as of April, 09. I love it. I am taking lessons and I have joined a ladies club with the Pinehurst resort that only play 9 holes once a week. It is great for beginners and it allows you to be yourself, socialize and have FUN. It also is teaching me the game of golf, etiquette, rules, procedures, etc. It is the best way to learn. I also met lots of ladies at the same level as me and I created my own group that plays once a week, 18 holes , that is also a lot of fun. For practice, I have played a 9 hole par 3 course and it is a great place to practice. I truly enjoy this game and you can really get hooked. FYI.
