Taylormade LDP balls

TM's official competitor comparison
This is TM's official stance on which of their competitors' balls stack up against each of their current LDP balls. Pretty interesting given all the discussions that have taken place here at GolfWRX regarding the spin, feel, trajectory and distance of these balls.

Seems like the ProV1x and B330 should be swapped with the ProV1 and B330s in the table below.

I don't see how any of that information makes sense. The Taylormade TP Black is longer (off the tee at least) than Red, just like: the Pro v1x is longer than Pro V1, the B330 is longer than the B330s, the HX Tour is longer than the Tour 56, and the One Black is longer than the One Platinum. That information all seems to be mismatched. Am I wrong?

What I use:

Driver: 9.5* Taylormade Burner w/ Reg flex Fuji Speeder 553 shaft

Hybrid: 17* PRGR 200i 2 iron w/ PRGR M45 100mph shaft

Irons: KZG Forged Blades 3(21*)-PW(47*) w/ TT DG S300 Sensicore shafts

Wedges: Mizuno MP Series 52* w/ Rifle 5.5 shaft, Mizuno MP R Series 56* w/ DG wedge shaft, Nike Forged 60* lob wedge w/ DG wedge shaft

Putter: KZG Forged Blade

Balls: , Nike ONE BLACK, Bridgestone Tour B330, Taylormade TP BLACK LDP, Titleist Pro V1x

Bag: Ogio Fire Red Octane stand bag

Golf Digest spin chart shows this year's ProVx spins more than the ProV on partials and full shots.

The most interesting comparison is actually the Srixon ZUR being lumped with lower performance balls and no ZURS and ZURC.

Agreed.

Given the Golf Digest test findings, there aren't any big surprises here.

Pretty weird that they put the Pro V1X and Nike One Platinum in the same category. The Golf magazine spin tests were all run at the same swing speed (95 mph on driver I believe). Not the best idea to categorize balls made for high swing speeds based on a moderate SS test. Even the box of the TM Red has Retief Goosen saying "I switched from the Pro V1x." I've switched to the TM Red from the V1x and like the ball so far.

Goosen switched when the ProVX still spun less than the ProV. I did find it strange that for 08 the X spins more. Maybe it was a mistake/misprint by the testers? I think it is more of the cover. Maybe my memory is bad but I think they made the cover on the ProVX thinner than the ProV this year.

Yeah I'm confused now, too, cos I thought the Black would be the same as Tour IX, and not the other way around.

Plus, the Black is 3-piece, now 4-piece like the Tour I and IX.

Can anyone verify that the Burner TP is longer than the HX hot off the tee? I tried just a sleeve of Burner TP's but I don't remember them being that much longer while the HX hot is super long for me although I love for it to have more greenside spin.

THe hx hot is super long way deeper than the burner ldp or any of the tmade balls. The hx hot is the ultimate scramble tee ball.

This is the most confusing thing I've seen in a while. They put the Nike Black with the B330S; and the Nike Platinum with the B330 ! Doesn't make sense.
